My wife uses so many different cool wrapping paper (and bows) for all of her Christmas gifts - she sometimes (!!) helps me to wrap my presents!!

:) I love Christmas time!!

"christmas in a shoebox" has been a growing project here in iceland..this is the third year we get people and kids to fill a wrapped shoebox with clothes..soap..towels..toothbrushes and toothpaste..toys..candy..school stuff.. etc..

last year there were over 2000 boxes sent to ukrania..this year there were nearly 5000!

i was working on this project till midnight last night (from 6:30)..we had to check every single box for items that are banned..like any form of liquid..chewing gum..candles and such..and then we added stuff into the ones that had very little..lot´s of people gave extra things to add in..it was such a great feeling to be there and to go home knowing that i had been a part of something really big and great..that there will be a lot of smiling kids faces in ukrania uwrapping christmas presents from iceland this christmas..

this is not a great quality photo..but i wanted to share with you what i was doing last nignt..:)

Vintage Christmas gift wrap with a silver background, lamp post, lanterns, holly and a festive red bow.

Candy canes, detail cropped and tidied up from a scrap of vintage wrapping paper.

If anyone out there likes to cut things out so this could be put on a different colored background, I'd be grateful. I don't have a lot of patience with this sort of thing. If you do make a cut-out, leave me a link to a nice-sized file! Thanks in advance!

Every Christmas when I pull out the wrapping paper I think of my mom who was the master wrapper -- I swear she had some kind of topological formula in her head to wrap presents with the absolute least amount of wasted paper ("okay, this present will fit that way, and then if I get that one over there and lay it sideways along that end of the roll . . .")

Wouldn't this make pretty wrapping paper? I saw something like this on Poppytalk and I might have to try it myself with this.

one large image in the middle of the piece of paper... I love this one too! My mom actually framed one of these pieces for me, and it's now part of the holiday decor collection.
