Lovely vintage wrapping paper. I brightened the whites to bring out the detail. Detail of a scrap of vintage paper I purchased in a Christmas ephemera lot late last year on eBay.
Instead of counting sheep

This is the wrapping paper that wrapped a package of very special green tea from Ippo-Do tea shop in Kyoto, Japan. I received the paper (and the delicious tea) from my flickr friend, ya ma, in Japan. The Chinese writing on the wrapping paper is the "Tea Sutra", "chakyo" or maybe it is "ocha no kyo" (not sure). 茶の経 ？？？？？

Some mixed emotions (people displaying distinctly different reactions in a photo) for the Vintage Photos Theme Park.
During her birthday party, a gleeful little girl opens a box containing a Minnie Mouse doll (probably a Gund from the late 1940s). Her mom and dad are eagerly watching their daughter, perhaps a little relieved that she seems to like her present so much. Another little girl--in the background next to the window--is wide-eyed with excitement.
One of the boys in the photo is excited about the doll, too, and he appears to be frantically reaching up to grab it away from the birthday girl. The other boy on the left, however, is glumly contemplating the proceedings, as if he's disappointed that he didn't get something that nice.
In a second photo, the glum boy is looking down at something else while the birthday girl and her girlfriends inspect the new doll. The grabber is almost out of the picture on the extreme right--perhaps the dad pulled him aside after he attempted to snatch the doll away.
The third photo shows the birthday girl smiling proudly as she poses with her new Minnie Mouse doll.
Lots of dots before my eyes and now I need to lie down! Simple shot of wrapping paper (more like cellophane) covered in hundreds of little dots.
Apologies for being in and out this week but been quite busy and will try and catch up during the course of tonight and tomorrow.

My Paddington Bear came to live with me in London when I was two years old (many, many years ago). He was hand made by my Great Aunt and he has a chocolate coloured felt hat, the brim of which had to be pinned up by a safety pin to stop it getting in his eyes. The collar of his mackintosh is made of the same felt. He wears wellington boots made from the same red leather used to make the toggles on his mackintosh.
He has travelled with me across the world and he and I have had many adventures together over the years. He is a very precious member of my small family.
Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.
Cousin Paddington is a recent visitor to our family. Travelling all the way from London, he was caught in transit thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, so it looks like he is stopping with us for a while. The more I look into his happy, smiling face, the more attached I am becoming to him.

I couldn't find any cheap Christmas wrapping paper in the Boxing Day sales but I found this stuff. It should keep me going for a few years.

Many layers of paint cover the thick railing along the riverwalk on Upper Wacker drive. The texture of the railing drew me to wrap a nebula around it. Softly in the background is the Wrigley Building.
SCOUT: "Why don't you unwrap the gift Paddy?"
PADDY: "Because Scout, good manners dictate that you should always open the card first."
SCOUT: "Why is that Paddy?"
PADDY: "It's because the true care and love is put into the message written inside the card Scout."
SCOUT: "Oh!" *Puts paw to mouth thoughtfully.* "And I suppose then you know who the gift comes from too."
PADDY: "Well, there is that too."
PADDY: "Look! It's a card with me on it! It was taken whilst on an adventure at Veg Out Community Gardens in St Kilda. I was playing around these wonderful metal hoops which are great for little bears to swing around on. How clever to make this card just for me! I wonder what it says? Shall we find out?"
PADDY: "Hullo everyone! Do you know what? Bears have two birthdays. Do you know what else? Today is one of my birthdays! And do you know what else? Today is my Daddy's birthday too! Isn't that a wonderful coincidence!"
