I'm normally a great respecter of people's right to privacy - but when the lady stall holder remonstrated with me for taking a shot of her wool, I felt as though a line had been crossed. So I'm posting the shot on here in the hope that I will get on her nerves all over again.
These colors along with the sparkles is how I would imagine the deep sea would look like...if there were light down there (from like...a civilitation of Mermaids or something rather...LOL). This is hand-spun, hand-dyed, drum carder blended, shetland wool that has been Navajo plied. I don't really care for the navajo plying because it tends to coil around where the loops join with the rest of the plies. Anyone else have that problem or even a solution to that problem? I hate the way it looks because it looks sloppy to me. I like nice, even yarns. This came out about worsted weight. Perfect!

Springy Polypay wool hand spun into a heavy worsted yarn. Then, I kettle dyed with a natural dye that I extracted from yellow onion skins.
The yarns used for these rugs are from local sheep, loomed and spun by local women and hand dyed...amazing colors and textures to this work.
