The Bridal Veil Falls is just outside Sabie, Mpumalanga in South Africa. It is 146m high. It is situated just outside Sabie and is accessible by car, with parking and picnic area on SAFCOL's grounds. From there, an easy footpath runs through bush scenery for about 1 km (15 minutes' walk) directly to the waterfall."

Wandering Wisp (Agriocnemis pygmaea) is a very common damselfly found everywhere in Sri Lanka. They can be observed in paddyfields, marshes, ponds and waterbodies with grassy edges. Adults usually seen perching on vegetation close to ground or water. Belongs to Coenagrionidae family

an older photo ... when he still had the wisps on his ears, and more light in his eyes

it's a rollercoaster of emotions ... i go from absolute bliss and peace, even joy, with matea and merrick, to huge, gasping, tearing bouts of guilt ... wondering if i could have loved him more, if he'd been an only dog if he would have received more attention, if his life could have been even fuller.

i didn't think this would be this hard. morley was always his own man ... never needed me, didn't like cuddles, never bonded the way murph did, the way matea has ... even merrick needs me more. morley was so fiercely independent ... i loved him but in such a different way, and i'll always wonder if it was enough.

it's impossible to convey the emotions that overcome me ... but right now i'd do anything to do it over again ... to even hold him one more time.

I just entered a portfolio of my hand self-portraits over at Artists Wanted SELF contest - if you like what you see, please consider voting for me, no need to register and you can vote once a day!

Many thanks and Happy New Year!

another shot taken at Brooke Shaden’s workshop. This was actually a testshot for my setup, but looking back at it I loved the pose Olivia took, just sitting there, while I adjusted my focus.

I tried to match styles here, adding some of my editing styles and using Brooke’s style and workflow.

Day eight - Some abstract stuff today. This is smoke from an incense burner taken with a 100mm macro lens.

Palm leaf in Florida many many years ago on Kodak BW400CN that wasn't at all expired when I used it.

After the Blizzard

“There may be a great fire in our soul, yet no one ever comes to warm himself at it, and the passers-by see only a wisp of smoke.” ~ Vincent van Gogh

Okay, had to do something that they tell all photographers to avoid....shooting into the sun....but this was too much of an opportunity to pass up. The Antelope Creek fire this past fall started out as a controlled burn initially, but several times it got a bit out of control, and we just happened to be in the park and witnessed at least two separate flare ups....just the day before this shot was taken, we hiked up Mt. Washburn without a plume of smoke in sight but by dusk, the fire had reignited and was raging out of control. As we traveled through Dunraven Pass the next morning on our way to the Tetons, the sun had just come up over the mountains, and there were wisps of smoke throughout the morning landscape, creating some really amazing layers of colors.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.....be safe & enjoy!!!!!

I really, REALLY want a faceplate or a head to paint on now. Badly. I wanna paint a colorful fantasy face-up!

But guess what; I dont have any spare heads, oh gosh! I always have at least one head that can go all out on when I get this urge but I dont have one now! Eeeeeek! :o

"Wisps" Someone asked me if I had any recent photographs of the Bourne Bridge and it got me to thinking that indeed I did but I hadn't processed them yet. Here's a five shot panorama of the Bourne lit by both the nearby street lamps as well as a rising moon.

Compositionally speaking, this image has dueling leading lines. Maybe you feel like you want to travel down the path in front of you...or perhaps you feel the pull of the bridge slingshotting you over the canal.

Panoramas can be tricky when shooting large structures that span the image due to all the distortion that has to be corrected in processing. But, hey, who doesn't like a challenge?

So, are you travelling the path or crossing the canal?
