Walkies At The Park....
We took a brisk walk through the park, apparently we weren't the only ones with that idea; the park was actually full of outdoor enthusiasts, who after a long cold spell took the first sign of nice weather to venture outside as well. us Canadians are a funny bunch indeed.
Along the way we walked past this girl who trying to keep her "over enthusiastic puppy" from climbing all over everyone it encountered. was standing well off to the side of the path to allow people to pass unencumbered by her young dog.

I seem to have got out of the habit of uploading any of my photos lately. I'm still taking loads though. This was taken on a lovely snowy day back in early December. We headed up to Waldridge in the hope of seeing some nice wintry conditions but didn't get there until late afternoon so thought that it might have thawed. But so glad that we went because the conditions were perfect. It was like a winter wonderland. Hope you like it.
Most of the kirkyard is already in shadow, as the sun is so low in the sky at this time of year in our northern kingdom, but the elegant clock tower (which still sounds out the hours) just catches the light.
There are two bell towers at the other end of the church, and often I have walked through here on an evening with the bells pealing, their beautiful sound carried across the evening air, past the normal sounds of any busy city, a little piece of magic and wonder that always makes me happy to hear. Of course, that is another pleasure suspended during our global pandemic, and I miss the sound of those bells calling out their song across my ancient city.
The starkness of a winter tree is a thing of beauty. Especially on an exceptional record warm day. Three exposure HDR processed with Nik HDR Efex Pro 2

Who has seen the wind?
Neither I nor you:
But when the leaves hang trembling,
The wind is passing through.
Who has seen the wind?
Neither you nor I:
But when the trees bow down their heads,
The wind is passing by.

The 50th entry into my Winter Trees album.
There was no snow today but by heck, it was nippy. A bitter easterly was howling down the Channel.

"Ramblings"
A chilly foggy grey early morning walk around the Sharpham estate grounds, turning into one of the warmest Febuary days on record.
I remember feeling proper overdressed once the sun was well and truly up while sweating my nutz off on the long steep climb back to the car.
Very much looking forward to 2022 spring and early summer birding.
Plenty of new locations I plan to visit over the coming months and lots of birds I would like to photograph along the way and many of those birds will be first time spotting for me.
"Happy New Year" ... And good health to you all...... Cheers!
A strong southwester brought our first blast of winter. The timid of heart shelter in their homes but not the photographers; they layer up and brave the bone chilling cold and gusting icy winds to capture the storm.
We trudge head down, braced against the winds onslaught of tiny ice crystals that sting our exposed cheeks like tiny frozen bullets. Seeking the perfect place to set up and shoot a few quick shots.
