Winglets on a -500 are just cool looking! Too bad we don't see these hardly at all here in Nashville.

I determined the winglets on each side of the saucer shuttle bay doors were offline, they should lap over the edge of the strongback part and into the secondary hull. They were too wide too and needed to be more tapered so I carved, filed, and sanded the cured Apoxy Sculpt then added some more AVES, pulling and blending with fingers and sculpting tools to form an unbroken curve around the spinal plate atop the secondary hull.
SpiceJet are one of the new low-fares airlines in India. They were good, on the whole - apart from not displaying the correct hand baggage restrictions at the check-in desk so we didn't know we couldn't carry liquids in hand luggage until we got to security. [IMG_0950]

They use the winglet 767s mostly for the Asia and South Pacific runs.

Miami Air International - Boeing 737-81Q(WL) - N732MA (c/n 30618/830) - Maria R.
This 737-800 was subleased to a number of different airlines by charter operator Miami Air (which, in turn, leased the aircraft from lessor CIT Group and 2017 successor, Avolon), before it would meet its untimely demise at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, in May 2019.
N732MA was delivered new to Miami Air International on April 26, 2001. It would then be leased by Martinair Holland from October 31, 2004 to November 22, 2005, when it was returned to Miami Air. N732MA would continue flying for Miami Air until May 19, 2008, when it was leased to XL Airways and re-registered as G-OXLD. XL returned the aircraft to Miami Air on September 17, 2008, when it would also be named "Lois Too" and revert to its N732MA registration. XL Airways Germany would then lease the aircraft as D-AXLI, between March 23, 2010 and November 8, 2010. Returned to Miami Air on that date, the aircraft would revert once more to registration N732MA. In December 2013, Miami Air re-named the aircraft "Maria R." N732MA was then operated by TUI Airlines Netherlands in a series of July-to-September leases in 2016, 2017, and 2018. It would continue to fly for Miami Air during the remaining months of those years.
On May 3, 2019, N732MA was operating as a military charter from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to NAS Jacksonville, Florida (Miami Air Flight 293). Upon landing at NAS Jacksonville in the midst of a thunderstorm, the aircraft would skid off the runway and end up in the St. Johns River. The incident resulted in 21 of the 143 souls aboard suffering (non-life threatening) injuries and substantial damage to the aircraft, rendering it uneconomical to repair. A week after the incident, the aircraft was lifted from the river and barged to Reynolds Industrial Park, in Green Cove Springs, FL for further examination. Once the investigation concerning the accident is complete, the aircraft will be scrapped.

Fog in SFO had the plane circling for quite a while. We ran low on fuel, loaded up in SJC and landed in SFO. Funny, just as we reached altitude, the captain called for flight attendants to prepare for landing. Shortest flight I've ever been on.
When all was said and done, we were in the terminal 2 hours later than our scheduled arrival time.

The Alaska Airmen's Trade Show is an annual event held the first weekend of May at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. It's a pretty cool event - a lot of static displays and cool things for sale for a state that relies heavily on aviation. We lucked out and had a very nice day for it. These photos are from the show held in May 2010.
