A great substorm sets the sky on fire...while the still waters of Mill Pond reflect the Big Dipper very clearly. In fact, looking at the reflection closely, you can even see the double star (Alcor and Mizar) at the bend in the handle!

Part of the "Blue Sky, Green Field" wind farm located on the southeast side of Lake Winnebago. I didn't have much time but there are ridiculous amounts of photo angles out there...definitely worth a return trip.

Processing Note: Prior to posting, this photo there was no visible banding. I have processed this image using a couple different programs, yet I still detect a slight amount of "banding". My usual tricks seem not to rid the image of all banding. I have run out of ideas or patience. Maybe it was from shooting into the Sun, positioned right behind the light or . . .
Boeing manufacturers the most beautiful aircraft, with great handling qualities, high reliability, and built like a bridge.
