Window Wednesday

Most of January was so dull and dreary! Finally, over the past few days, the sun has been out, but it's been very cold. I used my own photo and put it through the DDG-text 2 and this is what I got.

Very few shops around nowadays that just sell sweets as the market has been largely taken over by the supermarkets, petrol stations and convenience stores.

This one in Southwell is a rarity!

#windowwednesday

Another spontaneous upload of an old(er) picture, one that, hadn't I picked it for Window Wednesday today, would have probably gone back to another months- or even year-long slumber on my harddrive. So up it goes, before I get second thoughts about it (which happens all too often with too many images).

A color key / selective colour experiment which I don't do all too often; in fact, regarding uploads to Flickr, I think it's a first, but I have a few other images in the making with that processing technique. There's so much going on here with the light and the shadows – which add so many extra patterns to what is in that place anyway – that I thought it might help to structure the image if I left the red chairs red, those on the folding-screen included, because I thought that that's an extra layer of real vs. painted in combination with the layer of black and white vs. colour. I'm not sure if it really works as an image, but I'm showing it to you anyways, because otherwise... (see the first sentence of my description).

I had started to process it with selective colour months ago, so that idea wasn't one I got today, but the inclusion of the drawn chairs on the folding-screen was a new idea I got just today (and not all chairs there had been red, so I had to actually paint a few of them to make my idea work properly) when I re-processed the image in DXO PhotoLab, Lightroom and PS. Photo taken back in 2018 with the fabulous LX100 at the Königliche Gartenakademie (a beautiful garden centre nearby the Botanical Garden). This is one of the repurposed greenhouses, and greenhouses practically consist of nothing but windows, so I thought it would be perfect for Window Wednesday.

HWW, and Happy Hump Day, Everyone :)

Window Wednesday

This lovely home belongs to my neighbours down the road.

It rained all morning and we were waiting for the cold air mass to swing around from the back side and turn the rain into snow or sleet. The blobby white things are big fat flakes and the clear blobs are raindrops on the storm door.

Window Wednesday

Looking out a window at Stonington Gallery, one of our favorite places to visit in Seattle. They have wonderful art, mostly created by indigenous/first nations artists. I thought the painted electrical box was beautiful, too.

I wasn't on flickr this past week, but I will try to go back and visit your images that I missed. Be well and safe.

The main window of the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) at Southbank in Brisbane looks out onto the Wheel of Brisbane and the city on the other side of the river. This late afternoon shot in the lead up to Christmas provided a fabulous reflection of everything behind me.

Happy Window Wednesday.

The general view of this area from the other side of the window can be seen in my shot from the Star Casino viewing deck a few days back in my photostream although the wheel and ABC are just out of shot to left in that image.

There's no where to go but up!

Sister and brother enjoying the open windows this winter morning in Central Florida. We are getting some really cold air after the weekend.

Blondie and Dagwood Smith ... not often sitting together, and he's just getting ready to bite her. Bad cat ... mean brother. Blondie is the most gentle creature in this house!

Happy Window Wednesdays!

A new window in an old wall. There were two of them, but not easy to get them both.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.

An oldie that I always meant to post, but never got around to.

Three of the cattle on my farm checking out what's happening recently on a hot summer's day...Stay cool this weekend all-90 degrees+ here in northwest Illinois!

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT AND FAVES

ON THE REACTIONS I WILL TRY TO RESPOND BACK

Do not judge too hard,

I'm not so good at home this kind of photography :-))

Ein #Bügeleisen HAUS….

These windows belong to the 'Toll House', a historic building at the Welsh National Museum of History, Cardiff.

Originally built in Aberystwyth in 1771, this Toll House was situated on the main road entering the south of the town. It continued to operate until 1889.

It was dismantled and moved to the museum in 1962. It is furnished as it would have looked in 1842.

Happy Window Wednesday!

Detail of two adjoining houses by Vienna's fin de siècle master-architect Otto Wagner. Built in 1898-1899, these houses stand at the western end of the Naschmarkt, Vienna's largest open market. They were revolutionary at the time, doing away with the then predominant historical style, and remain strikingly original to this day.

We finally got around to visiting this museum when we were in Oakland back in June. They have so many beautiful, historic autos under one roof. In the car above, I was intrigued how they attached the side view mirror to the spare tire.

Guess this could be labeled a two-four . . . or 2-4 . . . or "to for"

. . . depending on one's viewpoint . . . so I'll just add it to Window Wednesday and Fence Friday . . . to cover my bases.

Who would know this is an entrance to a shop that specializes in home made soaps!

#Architektur# auf den AZOREN….

The new black house around the corner is finally finished, landscaping and fence and final paint. I'm more historic and antique loving, but this one is pretty cool. Happy Window Wednesday.

Last Saturday I went to a Melbourne Writers Festival event at Bunjil Place, Narre Warren. The spectacular building looked great at night with the lights and wooden soaring "wings" reflected in the water outside.

The event was well attended given it was King Charles Coronation day but I returned home in time to watch the actual crowning.

Happy Window Wednesday Everyone.

This is a display at the mall.

My wonderful flickr friend, Julie, posted a window image today which had me running down to our living room for a quick shot. Then I began to play because I've been having issues with thin white lines appearing during my processing.

Anyhoo . . . here you have just another *night and day* scenario. Happy Window Wednesday, everyone!

HWW-Happy Window Wednesday!
