Much better than having empty windows in the middle of your town or city, is to have some sort of decoration, information or painting to make it look a bit better. This is in the middle of York and is a view of York Minster.

Botham’s is a wonderful, traditional baker here in Whitby. Their cakes, breads, biscuits …well everything are delicious.

The evening beam that smiles the clouds away,

and tints tomorrow with prophetic ray."

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT AND FAVES

ON THE REACTIONS I WILL TRY TO RESPOND BACK

As the chair swivels

As the spinning wheel spins

As the daffodils bloom,

my heart churns and burns

with prayers for the world

to refrain from the gloom

and return

to the new beginnings of Spring.

One look at the front page of our paper this morning,

and I've thought of nothing else but the devastation

occurring in this horrific, senseless war, perpetrated

by one evil man.

What can we do?

oh Dear God,

please help.

Dagwood is cautiously looking out the window of the sunroom in our new home (2013) ... he was just barely out of the closet (literally) after moving them all here.

They had spent their whole lives in our tiny little villa in Sebring. Then a BIG scary ride in the truck, and to our new home.

Sounds like a happy time ... it wasn't. The Smith clan of 11 (well actually, it was only 9 at this point in time) was pretty terrified in this new home. Blondie and Dagwood were the worst affected. Crouched and cowered side by side in the closet in the cat room for months.

Now they think they own the joint! And oh how they love their windows looking out the back into God's garden. Birds and butterflies and wildlife galore. Free-roaming cats and squirrels and lizards adore ...

Happy Window Wednesday!

This is one of the Stained glass windows in the Great Hall of what remains of the Archbishops Palace at Southwell. It was the residence of the Archbishop of York hundreds of years ago but a lot of it was destroyed and now much of what remains is the Great Hall, containing these windows.

If you visit Southwell Minster, a cathedral church in Nottinghamshire, the Great Hall, Archbishops Palace and Garden are not to be missed.

Captured for Window Wednesday. HWW everyone!

For Window Wednesdays.

Found this window in a little back street in San Fransisco, Telde, Gran Canaria. I love going around all the tiny back streets in places like this, you never know what you will come across. HWW

I thought this scene was really pretty although I'd love it more if the window could have been more rustic and weathered, perhaps with shutters even.

There is a week out of the year where the sun rises and reflects off these 2 buildings across the river from us. It turns these condos a golden color. I liked the light on some of the homes and the bird I managed to get in the shot.

Happy Window Wednesday!

The Newbold Memorial window was installed in 1889, and dedicated to the memory of Henry Newbold JP. In the two lights on the left is depicted Moses delivering the Law, and on the right is Jesus delivering the New Law - scripture quotations held by angels make clear the connection between the two. In the middle is Jesus seated in judgement, with the Archangel Michael.

Seems to be a part of the staircase missing. Really. This POV made a better composition lots of distraction next to the broken staircase.

HWW

Three small circular windows, I just could not pass them up!

Enjoy the day and rest of the week...

today half way to Christmas!!!!! Called Leon Day... Noel spelled backwards!!!

A small second story window on the shady [where you'll always find me if I have a choice!] side of a house in Florida.

HWW. Just a snippet of Kauai's stunning scenery and very dramatic landscape as seen by helicopter tour. It's not a cheap ride but it's absolutely worth every penny - not least because 70% of the island is inaccessible, it'd be a real shame to miss all that it has to offer. More pics to come :-)

Sunset reflections on the window blinds at St Kilda Pier. A few of the Flickr Friends met at St Kilda and braved the cool wind to catch a fiery sunset. Good to meet up again after the last outing was canelled due to lockdown

Captured in my Russellville neighborhood for Window Wednesday. HWW everyone!

This upper storey of a building behind the high fence showed some great windows including round and lens shaped. To me it looks like the facade needs a bit of repair with some of it showing erosion/wear. Near the Monastery in South Melbourne HWW

I am itching to get to finally wear this dress. I got it at the beginning of winter hoping to wear it this spring but corona happened. LOL. I can't wait for our first date night on the back side of this!

HWW y'all!

... Window Wednesdays.

A lovely window in a delightful old wall.

Better viewed large, and thank you for your favourites. :)

The Rowing Boatsheds at night from the Birrarung Marr side of the river. With the blue lit Arts Centre spire peeking through the overarching trees. Not all the leaves have fallen. Nearby to this photo is the ice skating rink erected for the Rising Festival. HWW

Another shot from the Harkness carriage house. This one is looking through one window across the corner to another window. There is a model of the Harkness mansion sitting on the pool table. I just loved the leafy reflections in the old style glass and was happily surprised to see that they showed up well in my photo. This is only one image, converted to b/w with Pixlr X's filter "agnes". I also used Photos edit feature to darken the light coming through the back window.
