Did anyone notice the Christmas lights?

This Turkish restaurant has opened in the premises of an old tapas restaurant that we used to visit that was very good. Not been to these new people yet but soon maybe.

Miss Teddie and Dagwood enjoying the back window ... had a bit of fun with editing ... mirror view made a fun shot.

When we moved to southern Connecticut, New London was having a hard time. There were a lot of empty buildings on its main street, but also several cool murals around town. Maybe they gave someone the idea to add some cool art to the boarded up windows on the Bank Street building above. Unfortunately, I couldn't find an artist name or signature. From a quick online search, it looks like the building is till there, still empty, and still for sale - but with some of the window panels moved and missing. Just for info, this building is a couple doors down from the Hollywood murals I posted a while ago:

This is one of my go-to places for photography and a little peace and tranquility. The house is Hinton Ampner and a National Trust Property.

In addition to the main garden with views at the back of the house over the Hampshire countryside, there is a walled garden, countryside walks and a little church on the estate.

It is possible to visit the interior of the house, but usually I find enough for my camera outside.

from the National Trust website:

'On Sunday 3rd April 1960 - a day he remembered as being particularly unpleasant with a strong wind blowing beneath a grey, watery sky - Ralph Dutton took to the woods for a walk after lunch. It was a walk he would later regret.

While he was out, a spark from the library fireplace leapt over the guard and settled on a nearby sofa which, in those days, would have been made from highly flammable materials.

While the fire was contained for a time in the library, it soon burst through the ceiling where, fanned by the strong winds, it soared upwards to spread like a mushroom through the attics and eventually into the bedrooms.'

From the dreadful devastation which ensued, the house was rebuilt. It took 3 years to be completed.

This was the mayors house at the early 20th century. Now a museum. It sits on top of a hill and is rumored to be haunted.

The old supermarket windows.

Miss Ashlie watching out their window in their bedroom, checking out what Mommy is doing! Happy WIndow Wednesdays!

This was taken during one of the hard rain bands of the then Tropical Storm Debby. It really came down hard at times and big burst of winds would follow. Taken from one of the back sun-room windows.

It was an open door policy at the outdoor flea market!

This is one of the cabins at Myakka River State Park that we called home while on our camp-out at the park. Built in the late 30's by the men of the Civilian Conservation Corp. It is definitely the way to camp. They were upgraded with a full kitchen, bath and AC. There are 5 of them at the park and you have to reserve them well in advance.

Happy Window Wednesday!

I saw this glare from the side walk of this office building. The sun was make this balcony light up like a Christmas tree. Doors being locked for wknd. I took photo through 2 sets of glass doors. (very dirty doors) Happy Window Wednesday to all (;-D

I took this photo last month and although I tried for a slightly better shot of it today, I decided that this was the better version.

For Window Wednesday. I found this small dinosaur gumboot on the window sill of a building as I walked up the main street of Ballarat. Perhaps a bigger Dinosaur has chomped the other one! HWW

There's something so special about an old library when the sun streams through the windows. I did this with DDG-Text 2. This one didn't turn out too bad!

View of the reflection of a bank window on the corner of Muskogee Ave, in Tahlequah Oklahoma. The street sign is also in Cherokee since this is the Cherokee Capital for Cherokee Nation.

HWW-Happy Window Wednesday!

You may recognise those windows from a shot I uploaded a few weeks back. This is the full view showing the panoramic louvre windows of this old fisherman's hut at Toorbul Point, north of Brisbane. The lawns are mowed so it may still be used, who knows. I would love to get a peek inside! Happy Window Wednesday.

It's on quite a sizeable block so as more new homes are erected as the quiet bayside life is recognised in this little community, it will be snapped up and broken open during demolition to reveal the ancient insides.

Was to the eye Dr. for Dave. He has to have cataract surgery next month and thought nice windows at the office.

Happy Window Wednesday.

It's time for a little bit of humor, in a warped kind of way.

Happy Window Wednesday, everyone.

"I've moved about 10 times over the past 15 years.

I don't move for the sole purpose of getting rid of stuff.

I'm not crazy.

I also move so that I never have to wash any windows."
