The Flickr Lounge-Saturday's Theme-Drinks

These are two of my most favourite drinks. I love both because they contain natural electrolytes and they are perfect for this hot weather. I love their tastes and the Cactus Juice is good for inflammation. Soon our cactus fruits will be ready to harvest and we can make our own juice. The fruits are very sweet and tasty when ripe too, so they are good to eat right off the cactus. I created this photo in PSE13. I made the background from a photo I took this morning in my neighbour's yard. And I layered the drinks on to the background. I just love Photoshop :)

En la Argentina el fútbol es un deporte muy practicado y casi todos los niños del país juegan a la pelota y se sienten Maradona o Messi.

After working, cleaning out my utility hall, getting a washer & dryer brought in to said hallway, and then having lunch with some siblings & their significant others... I caught up with Andy, and we went looking for photographic inspiration! *happy/giddy clapping ensues*

yup, that's right... *singing* "AndHe walks with me..."

[blogged]

I was having a problem (as I usually do) with filling a frame. But then I stumbled across this one. This big, frame filling one. It was numbered car spaces so I guess this was the car parking space of the head honcho. And guess what else? Not only is this Friday - it's Friday the 29th February. So this one could also figuratively represent the one extra day we have this year. So this is my Fill The Frame Friday pic. Tada!

This was taken just as their little life rafts were removed from the ship, and the police deposited them back on dry land.

I caught some greenpeace action down at the Halsey street wharf yesterday afternoon. They were protesting the use of bottom trawlers - that decimate the seabed as it trawls for fish like Orange Roughy.

From the Greenpeace website: “Three activists have locked themselves to the Seamount Explorer and several more have set up a cordon of chain in the water surrounding the vessel.

At this time of year the Seamount Explorer catches orange roughy using the destructive bottom trawling method that flattens the ocean floor and leaves it completely barren of life for years to come. Foodtown stocks orange roughy from this catch. If Foodtown and other retailers choose not to stock orange roughy and other species caught using bottom trawling the practice will stop.”

For 52 1/2 Weeks of 2009 theme of "Signs, signs, everywhere!" This sign is on the sun visor of my new Ford truck. It reminds me every time I look up to "Avoid Abrupt Maneuvers and Excessive Speed"! I know the lawyers made them put it there but seems a little silly.

The other silly thing about it is that the second language appears to be French. The most common language in America other than English is Spanish, not French! This truck was supposedly made in the USA for an American company to be sold in the USA, and shipped to Florida. There is a huge Spanish-speaking population here but hardly any French speakers. We are used to all signs being English/Spanish but I never see French!

Actually my guess is that due to NAFTA that at least this sun visor was made in a French-speaking part of Canada instead of St, Louis where the sticker says it was assembled.

I've had my Montblanc ballpoint pen for a number of years and from using it each and everyday, nowadays, it's generally only used if I have to sign something!!

For Seven Days of Shooting, week 32 Yellow.

Still three weeks to go for the official start but the first flowers are appearing.

Another photo taken in Glasgow, earlier this week. The old bell tower is very old but it does have some lovely architectural detail!

The inspiration for the photo came while buying postage stamps (so what that the Olympics are over, only 17 months to go till Sochi 2014)

cwd322: Self-Portrait With Camera - We've all seen the lazy self-portrait where the photographer points his camera at a mirror and clicks the shutter button. The challenge here is to take a photograph of yourself taking a photograph of yourself...and find a way to make it interesting.

This sculpture sits high above the main entrance to Princes Square Shopping Centre in Glasgow City Centre - a great peacock looking out on the pedestrians!

Uncooked. Taken for 7 Days of Shooting - Yellow - Fill the Frame Friday.

For 7DOS minimal - it's an ornament, not Daisy as she doesn't sit still long enough for a silhouette!

Charlie, gawd bless'im, stayed with Cosper Wosper and the 'Cook' while we were in Norway...we did miss him but we know he was really happy there.

Frustratingly we have missed two weeks of the 52 weeks for dogs group challenge so I wanted to get something really special for his comeback. We have just enjoyed, at last, a couple of very sunny days and we have been taking his nibs out earlier in the day and when it's cooled down in the evenings...he is a hotdog after all!

It's good to be back...did you miss us?

Aug 8 220/365. Captured this shot about 2 hours before sunset in front of my apartment. The sun was going in and out between thunderstorms. Week 32 of 52 of 2011. The theme is AGAINST THE LIGHT/FLARE.
