Neighbour Ali returning home..a view on traditional country life..

or call this my kind of irony..I was on holiday during the theme of week 32,

followed the Olympic news on TV before the vacation,

and read a bit in the newspaper over there because I was interested what our countrymen were doin'..

this Turkish country farmer lives a very simple life..doesn't bother about tourists or

what's goin' on in the world, or Turkey, doesn't even say hello when we passed him..

to show the relativity of the fuzz about the Olympic games..

Belgium ended with 3 medals despite lots of talented athletes in our theme..

Don't you love when your family co-operates for a picture?

week 33

Joe and I are going to the British Virgin Islands! He's wanted to go there for what seems like forever and I can't wait to get out of the snow. Excited! Of course, we are both procrastinators so packing...well it will get done eventually. ;)

My parents had to put down our family dog, Toby, yesterday. We got him when I was a sophomore in high school. He was a great dog and will be terribly missed. He had a long, happy life and provided me with some great memories. Like the time I was painting my bedroom and I looked down to find him drinking the paint...he was about 6 months old. He looked up at me and had a light green snout...it was pretty funny. He never got sick from it though...tough dog he was. He used to sleep on the door of the dishwasher if it was left down...not sure what that was all about. I will miss you Tobs. XO

Friday Photos 2012 [Week 32: Dreams]

A few of MANY films which use the trope or device of "dream"...or do they?

with her shoes, just in case she wants to take a walk in the middle of her nap.

Glass

So...not only did I get a new body, I also got a new piece of glass this week...anyone know what this bad boy is?

She's still not happy about this invasion of privacy.

Bicycles in sunshine. Photo processed to enhance the high key effect for 7DOS.

This is a pomegranite taken in my sister-in-law's home in Grayson, GA.

The centre of a petunia, made into a 2x2 collage in ribbet.

I'm not into the Olympics so I wasn't sure what to do but this picture of the flag felt right to me.... Since I'm from the USA

It's not been a very good week and so the task has been left until my release!

I spotted this wonderful old doorway during my stroll round Châtelus Malvaleix when I went to pay the water bill. It looks like the date carved in the centre of the fan above the door says 1174 but it could also be, and is more probably 1574...still VERY old and in remarkable nick!

The doorway is in a narrow, tall lane, hence the crap lighting!

A thought struck me today, as I was stuck in traffic in Snowdonia and looking for a different route. I hadn't remembered to take a self portrait for this week's topic in '52 Themes 2009'. So, purely so as not to miss a week, I took a shot of myself there and then.

Now, what's the next topic? - must be more organised ...

Those who know me, know that I just love to grill and bbq. In fact, our kitchen is almost never used during the spring & summer months. This is my first attempt at a homemade bbq rub for smoking meats.

1/4 cup ground pepper

1/4 cup sugar

tLTW has wanted to stay active through this pregnancy just like she did with the Happy Child. We have been going to the recreation center and walking around the track. At this point the position you see here seems to be the ideal way to get around the track. Just need a little support....

After staging the football quarter final that saw Great Britain's men lose 4-5 on penalties to Korea, all thats left is to clean up and go home. Last to leave, please turn off the lights.

I promised you shoes to go with Monday's wedding dress. Although technically it's A shoe, but isn't it a beauty? All I need now is a traditional fairy princess to pop it on. Any takers? And before you say it... no, not you Jim!!! (Meremail)

Tradtional Thursday (weddings, fairytale princesses, high heels?) Whatever! This my traditional Thursday pic.

Buster loves when Richard comes home from work beause that means Dinner Time.. or as we call them, Kernels. He looks at me and gets all excited, then I ask him, "Did you tell dad?" to which he then moves a step or two and looks for Richard, like sending him mental images of kernels ::Chuckles:: Then Richard says, "What?" and Buster shuffles his feet a little. Richard says, "Do you need some kernels?!" and Buster gets all excited and turns like pulling him towards the kernels. Its so funny every time :)
