Week 32 of 52 in 2013. The theme is IN MOTION. The Norfolk Southern train was in a hurry as it went by the station at a high speed without stopping. I like how you can see the flare of the rising sun through this freight car as the train passes by the station.

This week's theme was: Against the light / Flare

Everyone else is posing lovely flares against the sun, but our weather just wasn't cooperating. In fact it's been so gloomy that I've started using my SAD lightbox again. I therefore played around with photographing a plastic water bottle against the light of the lightbox and I hope this is OK for the theme, even though it was taken indoors.

I went down to the harbour today in the hope of finding some flying birds, or swans stretching their wings.. And sat for a while taking in all that was happening.

Then I saw these children dodging the waves as they came in and decided they were a lot more fun than any bird for my shot!

And it would appear that I wasn't the only one fascinated by their antics!

Lucky Bucket's Oktoberfest. First time bottled. Very yummy.

If you read the entry at the photo above, you'll know that every time Anton and I have to separate for a few days / weeks, we don't feel that great about it.

I need to go to Spain. Family duty. And I will have to leave those beautiful eyes looking sad and missing me like I'll miss him.

This photo is NOT Photoshopped. It was taken with my 3Gs iPhone as a double exposure using a Beta app I'm testing called MULTIPLE EXPOSURE, in its black and white setting.

I've been behind, I know... but I'll post 2 this week to sort of make up for it.

I had this idea a few weeks ago anyway just never took it. Yes, the gun was safely unloaded (and went back in the gun safe). I inherited several handguns from my father. This is a Smith & Wesson 45 revolver.

Inspired by these movie posters...

Taken for 7DoS Love or Loathe, Focus Friday. I think marmite probably falls into the "Loathe" category but some might disagree! :-) I used an ordinary table lamp, turned on its side, for focussed lighting and if you look closely you will see a reflection of the jar in the blob of marmite :-)

Week 32 of 52 Weeks for Dogs for my Zooie.

I chose this photo for Zooie's 52 Weeks for Dogs photo because it shows another wonderful aspect of his personality. I am very fortunate that I have four dogs who are all very good about sharing bones and toys. Zooie allows the other dogs to lay down right next to him while he chews on his bones, He never growls. When he is finished he gets up and the next dog gets the bone (even though we have plenty of bones around, of course they always want the same one). I've even seen Zooie pass the bone to one of his "brothers" by pushing it over with his nose. As you can see, Colby is right in the mix. Zooie has been perfect with the little fuzz ball. No aggression what-so-ever. I know I say this a lot but I am truly blessed.

P.S. I had to change Zooie's vet appointment to this coming Monday. I'll be sure to post what my vet says after the appointment.

it has been a strange week, last week we attended an excellent music festival in Cardigan, Wales. then on sunday night i got a phone saying my mum had been rushed to hospital. in the chaos i forgot my camera so this weeks photo is the taken on the short walk from venue to our hotel (home for the weekend). My mum is now home with a shiny new pacemaker fitted. She seems very well.

I realized on Saturday night I had not taken a 52 Weeks shot. So before we went to a poker tourney we ran out into the backyard of Dave's dad+stepmom and I snapped this. I forgot how lush and green the Pac NW is, and I would be lying if I said I didn't miss it. I always said if I left Colorado it would be to go to the Pac NW (even before NYC) but I'm not goin' unless Dave is goin', so my guess is not to think about it for about 11 more years ;-)

I wanted to try the Duotone technique for last week's CWD assignment, and the sad thing is if I had taken a small amount of time to edit I woulda got one in! But come on, I was on vacation, why would I think about CWD? :-)

This is the last of my orange themed photos. Veronique's top is stolen from South Beach Best Models and is undoubtedly one of my most favorite fashion doll outfits - just had to feature it during orange week :)).

Week #32

Theme: In motion

I processed this shot to try and give the impression of motion blur seen by the girl as her father spun her round and round.

Taken on walk through the park after Sunday lunch in a local pub with Lyn.

Angela. Impromptu photoshoot by this tire we found that was cut in half and stacked by this red wall. More will be coming from this shoot.

A tal da super lua, que nem me deu fotos incríveis como eu esperava. Malditas nuvens.

for 7DoS: my heart desires colour - it can cheer up any grey moments ...especially when you come across it in and otherwise uninspiring street.

The single onion is in the rule of thirds.

The sun wasn't playing, so I used a gold reflector, and added a little warming filter in pp.

The container is an old pudding basin I found when I was packing up my mother-in-laws house - always on the lookout for interesting food photography props!

Description:

I am not anger and I am not greed, I am not lust and I am not rage, I am not gluttony and I am not sloth. I am what my Maker made me...benevolent and simple unlike the souls that tread in front of me everyday.

I am ... The Watcher.

I took this photo last week but my internet conexion was broken until now. So, I am late again... :S

As my camera doesn't have the double exposure option I had to use Photoshop. It wasn't easy but I have learned a lot :).

Thanks for the theme!

Approximately 2 year-old calf -Taken from Anderson Island Riviera Marina

My first 'kit' camera, the Recesky arrived from the Far East in a slim box. Instructions were pretty clear and all parts were present.

In fact, the hardest part was photographing the construction so I could make an animation of it (I can't embed the video so it follows..)

keep on going, nothing to see... no lens flare here.

32/52 Motion Bkur - over halfway through my self-set challenge and off to meet up with my accomplice, Sue (a.k.a. www.flickr.com/photos/46534600@N06/ ) for lunch today. I'm wondering if I should consider a 365 project next year, but the practicalities of juggling real life and keeping up with a 365 seem a bit daunting.

This is inspired by the vibrant, fun motion blur/panning shots, taken in supermarkets, of my brilliant contact Kevin, a.k.a. the Disgruntled Baker www.flickr.com/photos/disgruntledbaker/ . Not quite as I'd intended, nor as good as his, but not disappointed with it either as I was using my iPhone (I've found I have much more control over the background when you shoot motion blur with a DSLR or P&S, but doing that in your average English supermarket is pretty much a non-starter).

Thank you for any comments and/or favourites - I always appreciate them. Apologies for not being able to reciprocate at the moment. You can also visit me at www.facebook.com/LyndaHPhotography where I'll be posting images of our time in Italy and England.
