Eagle owl in Falconry

A sunny Sunday afternoon in the Kurpark.

Bad Oeynhausen is a nice little town in East Westphalia, famous as a spa centre for more than a century. My favourite place in town is the Kurpark (spa gardens) with beautiful garden architecture and historical buildings of the early days of the spa era. This Saturday we enjoyed the perfect Autumn sun in the park.

Dedicated observer of the human condition, or just a man avoiding "shopping"?

The latter I think.

The Blue Jays tend to watch the chipmunks and squirrels to try to get the peanuts from them.

I want to thank each and everyone who took the time to visit my little space here on Flickr and perhaps gave a like or a comment on my image.

I actually didn't get this for Christmas. A good friend got it for me for my birthday, but do to being backordered, I just recently got it. I took a quick shot to share with other photographers. Taken with one of those screw on macro lens from ebay. Hope everyone had a good Christmas....back to work!

Storm clouds from the cold front.

You probably don't know that I am here

I stand quietly watching

Everything and everyone

Year after year

Through Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter

Quietly watching

Just lately there has been a flurry of activity

All my friends and neighbours are waking

I quietly watch them

As I do

Bursting into their fresh green suits

It starts off quite slowly

And then all of a sudden

There are lots of tiny little leaves all around

The smell of fresh growth

Its amazing

And it happens every year

So open your eyes wider

Look beyond the average day

And pretty soon you will see

What I see

Perhaps you will find me

But if you don't thats okay

I will still be here

Quietly watching you

And I am just one tree

So it may make you wonder

If there are others like me

Quietly watching too..

Watching the ploughing.. Same as before but b and w, hated the sepia

i was out early yesterday morning walking the dogs along a local river when I saw this KF perched a short distance away.Luckily I had brought my camera along and managed this quick shot as it sat in dappled light amongst some Riverbank trees.

Today's Macro Mondays theme is "Watch". I'm the sort of person who only has one, when some are collectors and have hundreds. For me it's not a fashion statement, a status symbol or an "accessory". It's a device to reliably, and accurately inform me of the time, anywhere, anytime. It's a titanium SEIKO Kinetic, watch. Seiko are not the most expensive or flash, but they are like Hondas: reliable, tough and dependable. The Kinetic device in it is a small generator, powered by wrist movement, which saves energy in a capacitor, so that it runs for long periods without needing a battery, or winding up. It's rated down to 100 metres, in case my bath overflows. Apart from being waterproof, accurate and reliable, perhaps its best quality is that it is made from titanium which is hypoallergenic, meaning it doesn't irritate skin if it gets dirty or sweaty. I've had it now for about 30 years and I have absolutely no desire to replace it with something, newer and flashier from a designer or fashion brand. This one works.

This painting seems to have its own flickr genre of people sitting in front of it.
