A small group of friends and I went to Brighton for the day, while waiting for the barbecue to get ready. Vicky and I were discussing cameras and the cameras we're investing in. I left my tripod in the car, couldn't be bothered to get it. The perspective of this shot is low down (on the other railings) because the others were having a barbecue on the other side of the wall, I didn't want them in the shot. HDR (16:9 crop).

Went to Joshua Tree National Park with Robert, Bonny, Venise, and Ken last weekend. Never been there so I didn't know what to expect and I was not prepared. We first went to the 29 Palms Oasis. The name sounds pretty awesome, huh? After a couple of hours hiking, I was not too happy finding out that the oasis is dry. Plus, Bonny is afraid of height so we gave up around a quarter way. Thanks for trying, Bonny. You did great! It was also so cute to see Venise saying: "Its okay, Mommy. Take my hand." She is such a sweet girl. Too bad we had to split up.
After the 29 Palms Oasis, We were trying to go to Key View point to watch the sunset but we realized we missed the turn when we saw the gate on the other side. We were then told that we missed it 14 miles ago. Damn! I went back but it was already dark even before we got to Key View. So we decided to just make a stop and photograph the sunset. Took some pics of the tree but was not happy with the result so I started doing some experiments. I stole this idea of getting the reflection from the car from Robert. Nice one, Bob.

I loved the way the golden, red and blue colors the blinds made a perfect photo.

After getting several emails this morning and this week, I'm pretty frustrated. Asking me when your doll will be done or if I can hurry will not make me go faster, in fact it will just make my work half as good as it should look. Kyle sent me this video and I loved it.
I only do faces on Friday nights and sometimes during the weekends if I can. On top of faces and reroots, I am also handeling a 3 year old, housework and prepping for an upcomning craft show. So please be patient, your doll is on my mind 24/7 trust me. I'm one of those people who tend to worry and obsess over things, so even when I'm not working on a face, she is in my mind in hopes of working on her. I hope this didn't sound mean, I mean it in the nicest way possible, just a little stressed today. Thank you guys! <3

First ever tests of flash and diffusers. LOTS of stuff to learn.
Just bounce flash with huge diffuser behind the watch for the glass hilight, and a golden reflector behind my right shoulder. I need to learn this stuff, it's so interesting, but hard to grasp with flashlights - some pilot lights would help to understand the lighting setups better. Time for studio lights or construction halogens maybe.. we'll see. Or time to go to the studio with Marko.. :-)
