With the cell phone this picture didn't come out as interesting as I would have liked it to, but I wanted to put it up here anyway. This is a long line of early washing machines, showing how they have changed through the ages. Too bad this photo doesn't do it justice!
This is the recirculation flume for the rim-flo system. With a GE, this would be straight tube that would spray water out into a "hat" that sits on top of the agitator. With this configuration, water is diverted downward into a perforated ring that is mounted to the top of the inner tub.

This and the series of images from here to the cat were taken on an overcast day that many would have thought not too great for taking pictures. When it is this nice in Wisconsin with no snow on the ground in December it is always a great day for photography. Then when the snow comes it just adds another element of beauty., This is an old wash machine that is among the collection of just about anything you can imagine at Schettl's in Butte des Morts, Wisconsin.
I stopped to shoot a 360-pano outside of an old abandoned gas station / restaurant on the Trans Canada Highway west of Highway 40 and grabbed these shots as well.
It's like a bit of the inner city invaded the beautiful foothills of Western Alberta.

to replace the old Maytag that finally died today--after about 35+ years. It was my parents' washing machine, and the only one we had during our 31 years of marriage. See it here:
Of course, our fat-ass cat, Lemonjello, has to be eating.
Our new washing machine!! The future is now!
We bought it from Home Depot for $1300. It has several different cycles, including normal, permanent-press, delicates, speed wash, sanitary, allergens, heavy duty, towels, bedding, and it has a steam function as well.
It also has a wi-fi connection so you can control it by an app on your phone, however, Carolyn can't run that anymore because it gets an error that it can't be run on rooted devices.

A freezer, a portable television and a washing machine all looking in reasonably good condition but left in a back lane in Patchway, Bristol. Maybe due for the rubbish bin, maybe to be repaired and recycled or maybe to be placed later at a new address. One thing is certain, nowhere to put a plug out here!
