The kid is looking for fresh clothes for the day. But it kinda looked like he was looking for a way out. I think I'm superimposing my own thoughts though. December 12, 2016, by phone.
Whilst waiting for the rain to stop, and our washing to dry....Inspiration visited, and bestowed this work of art upon me... ;-)
Apart from the usual curves, saturation, shadow enhancing etc....the shape of the image was achieved in camera...ie, slower shutter speed coupled with camera movement.....

Our wretched washing machine has finally gone bang. I've been coaxing it along for the last ten years or so, since the warranty expired, replacing bits here and there: a belt here, a switch there, a printed circuit board under there. But now it's expired in a big way: a bearing collapsed, the whole thing seized up, and, by the smell of it, the motor burnt out. So, until the replacement arrives on Tuesday, we're back to the traditional way of doing it: a hand-wash in the sink and spin dry with my late parents' trusty old spinner, and the water collected in a saucepan bought new in 1956.

Well today our washing machine finally gave up the ghost!!
So we got together around the table for a conference on the best solution.
After many hours of debate a solution was reached and a new machine installed!!
You'd think he would have learned his lesson the first time.
Or the second time.

Fotoaufgabe "rein".
HappyShooting photochallenge "rein" (which in german has the double meaning of "into" and "pure").
After my first attempt i had second thoughts about it and tried to emphasize the two meanings of the pun.
In addition to that i had some fun trying to make an old washing machine look interesting....
One of Will Coles's largest and most arresting street art pieces; and some dick-head has already seen fit to scribble on it.
I'm going to start experimenting with posting my daily creativities to Facebook (yes, despite my hatred for Facebook's image compression) and Tumblr (providing I can finish the design before I fall asleep tonight) as well as Flickr/Twitter, so here is a drawing of mass distribution of stuff from my brain.
Robots for everybody!!
Two old cooking stoves and an old washing machine sit out on the porch of a building in Jawbone Flats. I can't imagine what it must have been like to cook and wash with these.
Jawbone Flats was established as a mining camp in the 1920s. It gets its name from the fact that while the miners were out in the mines during the day, their wives would gossip, or "jawbone", during their daily activities in town. The mining camp was shut down in the 1940s when the mining proved to be less than profitable. Shiny Rock Mining Company operated out of Jawbone Flats from 1972 to 1992.
Thanks to Senator Mark Hatfield, this area became protected as the Opal Creek Scenic Recreation Area in 1996, along with the Opal Creek Wilderness, which lies adjacent. Since this area includes old growth trees, Jawbone Flats is home to the Opal Creek Ancient Forest Center, and educational groups and individuals can come to study and learn about this ancient forest. No private vehicles are allowed here; you have to hike in 3.5 miles. In addition, the old buildings, artifacts, and equipment here are protected by federal law.

I took a walk in Goose Hollow, which is a really weird part of Portland, to try to find some undiscovered street art and I found this. This is washer/dryer in front of an apartment complex with a face painted on it. The face is not exactly smiling, but more looking kind of sad and hopeful. I really like the idea of painting faces on inanimate objects to bring life into them. I am assuming that this washer/dryer was already outside, and someone came up and drew a face on it, rather than it being a purposeful placement done by its owner.
