Here are three photos I took of Mr K parrot eating some tasty sunflower seed on top of our washing machine! It had been a very warm and hot day, and Mr K parrot was sitting on our back railing wings slightly open and panting a little, So we opened our back fly screen door and put a bowl of sunflower seed on top of the washing machine, to see if he wanted to eat there, and he did. It was much cooler in the laundry. he sat they for 5 minutes enjoying his seed, and then he flew back outside and took off. It was only a once-off.
I haven't been to a laundromat in many years but had to make a trip when our 33 year old washer finally gave up the ghost. The trip required that I learn the modus operandi of washing clothing at a laundromat. Turns out that when you use one or more machines you place one of these little magnetic numbers on the machine to brand it as yours for the moment. Who knew...
While I was in Flickr yesterday I was scared by noises from my kitchen. I started up from my chair and saw how a ghost filled my washing machine. I really was delighted and wanted to take a picture of the friendly helper. Luckily I was able to catch him, but as these shy creatures have the habit .... unfortunately only ghostly.

Is it just me or does everyones washing machine keep eating odd socks? One of life's mysteries I guess!

Two days after the last load I put into the washing machine, I found this dry, contorted object in the washer. I failed to see it when I transferred the wet laundry to the dryer. But it does make an interesting abstract, an unintended consequence.

The Dutch Rail class 1200 was part of the post-war Marshall Aid from the United States. Built to American standards this was locomotive the way locomotive was meant to be. Okay, I don't fit in them but they are impressive machines to see. The examples still remaining today are almost 70(!) years old!!!!

Standing in my kitchen, I looked at my washing machine and wondered how a ring flash would work in it... yes, that's my brain for you! Anyway, I think I looked quite comical with my head in there.
an odd sight of 11 washing machines lined up at the beach....
the lady (perhaps the artist herself) was drying them off after a brief morning shower.

artist statement: The work speaks both to our country's history and it's imagined future. The 11 washing machines represent the 11 ships in the First Fleet. The machines are sites for reflection on past wrongs and a place to commit to improving ourselves, individually and as a community, into the future.

and they are in the washing machine. Dodger doesn't seem all that interested in the washing machine but Oliver tries to get in at every opportunity. I always make sure I don't have a kitten in the machine before I shut the door.

I bought a new phone last week, but it is the same brand and model I had previously. I like the camera in particular; it shoots full HD in slow motion and in four time-lapse speeds. It also still has the ultra-wide lens, as you see here. I had to replace the previous phone due to the battery swelling up (again!). The price of this phone was under $100, and $10 cheaper than when I got it last year.
Even if this one lasts only a year it was still worth getting. The next time this happens (swelling battery) I'll get a new brand and model entirely.
And, I'm still leading a rather innocuous life, as subjects like the laundromat interior is about the most exciting I am doing for now.
