The Vineyard
A pleasant afternoon walk in Ickworth Park, Horringer, Nr Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk.
A National Trust Property
The Park - The extensive 1,800 acres of wooded parkland, created in part by 'Capability' Brown, is a living landscape rich in plant, animal, and bird life. Some parts cultivated and grazed, yet much can be explored and enjoyed.
The Gardens - The gardens surrounding the house were created in the first half of the 19th century by the First Marquess of Bristol. Those in the formal Italian style to the south of the house feature the Gold and Silver Gardens, a Victorian Stumpery and the Temple Rose Garden. A raised terrace walk separates the south garden from the park.
Beyond the church are the remnants of an 18th-century garden created by the First Earl. His summerhouse (circa.1703) and ornamental canal still survive. The kitchen garden, protected by high brick walls, is now a vineyard producing Ickworth wines

The Harris shutter effect, done digitally, combines color layers from three different photographs. Things that move between exposures appear as colored ghosts.
... my wish for baby noah. being born on a very monumental day in our lives, in our time, i can't help but think as to where these feet will take him and the things he will see when he gets there. for two days, i've been weepy, tears come unexpectedly at random times and as i sit here and listen to all of the coverage of this monumental election, tears are flowing. i sit and reflect on the words of mccain and the acceptance speech of senator obama and i think of the change that this nation is about to face and i pray, i PRAY that this young man sees us operate on the ideas that our founding fathers meant for us to use as a nation to stand tall, strong and hopeful. the ideas that allow us to set our goals and obtain them, to be proud as a country and prosper and to BE a part of change. baby noah, for you i pray tonight. i pray for you to always have the liberties and the freedoms that, since 1776, our great country has been able to provide. i pray that you live through change that brings pride back to the elders of our country by doing what we can to take care of them and that you embrace all that YOU have been blessed with by being born a citizen of our great United States of America. for you, baby noah, i pray that you forever walk in peace.

As I walked past, a guy sitting in his garage called out, "What are you doing out in the rain?"
I smiled and called back, "What are you doing in out of the rain?"
Today I went for a little walk in a beautiful part of Nova Scotia. Too bad my watchamacallit was bothering me a bit or I would have seen more of it. Hats off to the town of Truro and its lovely Victoria Park. Hats off to this great community where people still stop and talk, give away smiles and don't try to drive over you in traffic. Hope to see you again, Truro!
We went for a walk in the woods.
Nothing could have been easier.
There were some other people
and they all smiled at each other
and the trees. A simple scene,
simplicity in this sense meaning
you had better like green
or you could develop a headache.
No one screamed, Fox News
did not rush a crew to report
the lack of event. We saw
a woman pointing a camera
at where she said a snake
was taking a break
from haunting our nightmares—
could have been a small dragon.
An old man in a wheelchair
was being pushed to the top
of the path by a woman who was
probably his daughter. The woman
bringing up the rear was I imagine
his wife. There was a waterfall
at the end of the climb. I thought
they were giving him one last look.
His face seemed as serene as the faces
of the trees—the old woman looked
entirely lost.

A walk in the Amerongse Bos.
