To celebrate the completion of the rennovation of Marshalls Mill (in the Holbeck Urban Village area of Leeds), and also the start of the UK Green Film Festival, the carpark at Marshalls Mill played host to a free temporary pop-up "walk-in" cinema for one night only. On display were a number of local short films, followed by the main feature, the award winning documentary "Happy" that travelled the world trying to uncover the secret to happiness.
Refreshments were courtesy of local businesses, with The Midnight Bell putting on a tasty BBQ, The Cross Keys supplying the booze (via it's Mr Frothy converted ice-cream van), coffee from Lotties Coffee, popcorn from Out Of The Woods, and a charity cake sale organised by Leeds Met.
The event was organised by Chetwoods Architects, in association with Igloo & Quamby Construction, and projection and audio courtesy of Lumen.
Really great evening, i just hope they do it again!

This is a assemblage I created with canvas that I stencils and over-stamped. I made it for a journal cover, but i decided to turn it into a hanging instead. I printed a photo transfer onto a rust dyed muslin square and sewed that onto the canvas. I added vintage buttons on to the corners. I then hung the work on an aspen bough with netting strips.
This is my first pictures from a test roll with my ”new” camera.

slightly edit the contrast in post. That's all!
I was blue, just as blue as I could be
Ev'ry day was a cloudy day for me
Then good luck came a-knocking at my door
Skies were gray but they're not gray anymore
Blue skies
Smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies
Do I see
Bluebirds
Singing a song
Nothing but bluebirds
All day long
This is a park 2 blocks away from home, it's a very nicely kept place for jogging and walking, I really like the lighting here at the end of the day. I had no reflector or flash, so I just over-exposed by 2 stops.

I had originally intended to shoot for B&W, with that woolen cardigan Wayne had on, but colour really lifted the image in ways that B&W couldn't.

I was asked to photograph Walk In Coma's album launch for "Anyone" by their bassist Tom. It was at a venue I've never shot in before so it was a nice change. There was no proper lighting but the fact I could actually get round to the drummer to get decent photographs made me pretty happy. It now feels like I've got cotton wool in my ears for the third day running but I'm proud, two metal gigs in a row.

Another little photo series from a family walk in the woods around Fort Victoria, Yarmouth this past weekend. The light wasn't always great (again) but the 50mm f1.2 makes the most of what's available when you open it up, and the focusing with it on the 6D is noticeable better than on the 7D, you can shoot at wider apertures with more more confidence that it will be where you want it.

I love this company and have been wanting to build a Walk in Love modular store for some time, but never found the right setting. But with some impending vacancies on our 2012 America on Wheels layout it provide the perfect corner building for the new trolley station.
The store is located at the Park City Mall in Lancaster, PA. Here is a link ( shopwalkinlove.com/in-store/#.UN8jsraM8y4 ) to a photograph of the storefront which was the main inspiration for both sides (but only replicated on one side)
The building was instantly recognizable for our younger local visitors at AOW this year and was a delight to build and share.
Below is a description about the company taken from their website:
Walk in love. is dedicated to selling well-designed, high quality products with a positive and inspiring message. That message is a reminder to imitate God by loving others every chance we get – no strings attached. We believe that Jesus came and showed us how to be that message.
We want you to walk in love.
Thanks for checking out the build

I couldn't get a doctor's appointment until 5 September (!) so I decided to head over to the Walk In Centre. After (only) an hour's wait, I saw a nurse who diagnosed an ear infection and that it would "go away by itself" in a day or so...
Right.
