Reading Railroad N-1sd 1828 pulls onto the turntable on my garden railroad in an image reminiscent of one captured by O. Winston Link. The loco in the background is Reading 0-6-0 1251, the shop switcher.

The 0-6-0 is from USA Trains and is a simple repaint/renumber while the larger locomotive is a 2-8-8-0 modified from an Aristo Mallet to more closely resemble a Reading locomotive.

The "smoke" is from a fog machine and I used three external flashes to light the scene. Both G Scale locomotives receive electrical power from the track.

Lifting mist - The early lifting mist across Loch Awe reveals the beautiful medieval ruins of Kilchurn Castle as the first delicate light of the day illuminates the dramatic mountain backdrop of this truly stunning location.

Captured on the first of two autumn visits towards the end of last year, this location has been extremely kind to me by presenting near perfect conditions on so many occasions for which I feel genuinely privileged to experience.

A wonderful and inspiring sight at any time, but especially so when conditions are as superb as this.

In my profolio, I've got several shots of Seattle that I am proud of, and most of them were taken at sunset. This time I finally managed to get a sunrise one there.

This shot was taken on a Monday morning. The day before it was taken, the forecast showed that the cloud coverage would be mostly high and mid cloud in the next morning, and I knew that this might be a good sign for f a decent sunrise. The next morning, I woke up at 4am, and when I looked outside my window, I could see a bit of reddish cloud on the east side. That's it, I knew if red started to show up more than an hour before sunrise, it would simply get better and better. It took me half an hour to get to this spot, and this was what I was rewarded with.

This photo was taken in Spain in the delightful Delta de l'Ebre Park. Lovers, swimwear in the sun, and dog in a dust - all of this tells you about hot summer day which ending.

These captured in May on Victoria Day, and we will have more celebratory fireworks tonight - I surely hope to photograph them again, and again, and again :-)

On the way from California to Iceland and Switzerland I transferred at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The self-driving train that connects the terminals runs below ground. Perfect for a motion blur shot.

Third attempt of the Capital wheel. Took this one a adjacent pier next to the Ferris wheel. With the absence of the sun, I was trying to capture more of the vibrant colors from the wheel and various colors on the water.

The Science Centre of Glasgow consists of Glasgow Tower, the Science Museum and the IMAX theatre. Designed by the Building Design Partnership.

Is it a photo booth or a portal to another dimension? Seriously though... I was originally drawn to this scene because of the colors and heavy shadows. I also liked the motion of the curtain at the entrance and it's random placement in a place I wouldn't have expected to see it. I enjoy experimenting and this is just another one of those experiments.

A scaffolding in the Dutch city The Hague was the starting point for this composition. Even at the moment when I took the original photo I thought of constructing this castle of openness. I like to see it as a metaphore for freedom and creativity.

Captured in the farm fields of Mae Pam, a favourite spot of mine whenever I'm in Thailand's Chiang Mai area during the cooler months. This place is almost assured of early morning mist due to the nearby mountains blocking the direct sun until around 8 am creating this wonderful rising mist moment.
