Turn out the lights, let's be still for a while / Let the wind blow in with the rain / The changing of seasons, the tangle of sheets / And the heat pipes have broken again / And I watch you watching the headlights you are lost in / A country I cannot find / They pass on the ceiling, a strobe in slow motion / Alive in the cracks of the blinds (Anna Tivel)

There comes a time
When there's nothing left to say
All words are useless
Send them from a thousand miles away

The smooth blue water courtesy of the long exposure offers a nice setting to contrast the crisp white ice encasing the remains of this pier at Fifty Point
Reed Moulton Homestead Barn, Mormon Row, Grand Teton National Park, Moose, Wyoming. Title quote adapted from the poems "The Dying Old Barn Whispers His Story Still" by Jon Katz and "The Old Barn" by Joseph Paul Estes. There is a sliver of the Grand Tetons in the back left.
Lighting issues meant I had to take these photos out onto the terrace. I was there with remote shutter release in one hand (I love that thing, I'm only slightly disappointed that I can't seem to operate it with my teeth), black anti-unwanted reflection card in the other hand, ... err dare I say it, kitchen foil tucked into my t-shirt as a kind of reflective bib.... Anyway, as described and somewhat contorted to bring it all together, I had no other way to make the water move in a ripply fashion than to huff and puff. So I did. At some point, I turned around and found myself being carefully observed by five, yes five, local feral cats. I fear the word of my insanity is already around the neighbourhood 😆
