A blue hour image of the Bluewater Bridge taken last evening. This twin span bridge is the crossing between Sarnia in Canada and Port Huron in the United States which. with the border closed to non-essential traffic due to Covid, is only a trickle of the traffic compared to what it would normally be.

This was my second trip to capture this shot, the first back in December when unfortunately conditions were not ideal and position of the sunset was to far south for the image I was hoping for. This time conditions were way better even down to the clouds that rolled in on what were clear skies.

Thanks for viewing and have a great Sunday :)

An assortment of vintage items are stacked against the weathered boards of an old barn. Wagon wheels, barrels, signs and golf clubs make up the unusual scene.

I spotted this blue fence near the CliffTop Cafe at Overstrand, Norfolk. I loved the depth of blue plus the greens at the bottom and the bare wood at the top. Difficult to know where best to crop the image.

Dix ans d’attente avant de pouvoir enfin faire une visite fort... désagréable !

indoor experimentation. a still life of some tulips, past their best. I like the way the stigma and anthers (had to look those up) look a bit like a person going "surprise!" from the centre of the unfolded tulip

The lighthouse on Talacre beach at the mouth of the River Dee was built in 1776 and operated until 1883. Apparently, its one of the most haunted buildings in Wales with sightings reported over the years of a keeper at the top of the lighthouse, who is said to have died of a broken heart. In the dunes behind the beach, concrete pads and other evidence of wooden huts can still be found where refugees from the nearby port and industrial town of Mostyn and as far away as Liverpool, sought shelter for the duration of the Second World War when they were bombed out by the Luftwaffe

Taken on the 2016 Lighthouse Challenge, looking back at the Lighthouse and cliffs from the shore, at low tide.

This once a year event, organised by the Rotary Club of Eastbourne AM can only be undertaken when the tide is at it's lowest, to enable the walkers to set off to the lighthouse and back before the turn of the tide.

The terrain is rough rocks and large pebbles, with a little bit of sand and lots of seaweed.

It was an amazing experience to see this iconic structure from the shoreline. It is 43 m (141 ft) in height and became operational in October 1902. It was automated in 1983 and the keepers withdrawn.

To give some idea of scale, the cliffs in the background are 162 metres (531 feet) tall.

Royal Sovereign lighthouse, located 11 km (6.8 mi) offshore from Eastbourne, is a lighthouse marking the Royal Sovereign shoal, a sandbank but with its impending demolition, the strength of Beachy Head light will be increased, to compensate for its loss.
