As I was walking into Brighton Station I saw this guy just getting this full length, vibrant coat out of a plastic bag handed to him by a young lady. I stopped to talk to him and he told me that the young lady, Saffron, had made the coat for him to his design. I commented that it was a Joseph coat and he said that was what he was thinking of.

A creative take on a summer sunset at the beach. Captured through a pair of sunglasses resting on the pebbles, the scene transforms into a layered composition of warm reflections, clouds, and glowing skies. A reminder that perspective changes everything.

📍 Greece – Summer vibes at their finest.

I knew Saturday was going to be a dry day with the possibility of some sunshine. So I decided it was time for some wildlife and I headed to the British Wildlife Centre (britishwildlifecentre.co.uk)

A great day - the sun shone and the animals all came out and posed in perfect light. Here’s another little poser from the day.

We have a pair of swans that have lived in the marina for as longer as I remember. The management security are very protective of them so they have their own boardwalk to nest on which is positioned around the back of the inner harbour. They seem to have signets each year but I've only ever seen one survive to adulthood.

Happy days but I'm not sure how he's driving with people chatting in in front of his view.

Strolling through the historic streets of Wil, soaking up the timeless charm and golden sunrise. The Rathaus and its vibrant flags add a touch of history to this picturesque scene. 🇨🇭✨

Artist who keeps walking towards creativity

Description

Discover the transformative journey of artists as they explore the intense struggle between inspiration and doubt, the paradox of creation, and the unyielding quest for legacy. This reflection delves into the profound realisation that artists are not just seeking meaning. They are becoming it through their creative processes.

Rathayatra is a festival for Lord Krishna and His devotees. It's an extraordinary spiritual event that originates in Jagannatha Puri on the east coast of India and dates back over 2,000 years.

Everyone chants the Hare Krishna maha-mantra with musical instruments and drums along with dancing in ecstasy as Krishna in His most merciful form of Jagannatha is pulled along on a huge wooden cart.

The areas that I've walked in this summer have been remarkably short of butterflies, bees and insects in general. Then last week as I walked across Kemp Town gardens on Black Rock this Fatsia Japonica bush was alive with all of the missing insects from the summer and they were happy posing for my photographs. The stars of the show were the Red Admiral Butterflies which were on most of the flowers along with chubby bees, sparkly greenflies, tiny insects and these little stripy fellas which I decided were wasps but I wasn't sure. They certainly enjoyed annoying the butterflies.

I was told by a Flickr friend Gary, who specialises in photographing butterflies, that these are red admirals and the south coast is their last stop in the UK en route to the warmer climates in Europe.

Sadly when I walked around the new one way system there were more staff than visitors.

Not forgetting the Rampion windfarm.

In October 2021 the ITV returned to Brighton to record the new series of Peter James detective series 'Grace'. The first few days were filmed on Black Rock and the old library on Dukes Mound. Then the filming moved on to other parts of the city. The security guards were fine with me taking photos but asked me not to post them on social media till they'd finished filming...... then I forgot to post them.

And a man fishing from the groynes

Earlier in the week I posted two images of the outside and the inside of this arch on Black Rock. One showed an art installation:

And the other showed the cardboard covering the outside of the arch, providing protection from the wind:

Today I stopped to see what was happening behind the cardboard, expecting it to be trashed, And I met Ferdinand, homeless and now sleeping in the Art Installation.

The spiral is logic, time, containment.

The human figure does not dominate, it simply exists, scaled down.

Every detail is essential, every curve is a passage.

Within the form, one enters and disappears, like in a vision.

Esistere in scala

La spirale è logica, tempo, contenimento.

L’essere umano non domina: esiste, semplicemente, in scala ridotta.

Ogni dettaglio è essenziale, ogni curva è un passaggio.

Dentro la forma, si entra e si sparisce, come in una visione.

I saw two guys talking at the side of this shiny steam engine. It turned out they were both called Jonathan. As I was writing their name down they told me it was Jonathan spelt with an A as it is in the bible. Jonathon 2 decided to move out of the shot as Jonathan 1 was the owner of John Fowler and Co.Ltd.

Quite amazed but happy to find the Mod Revival at the aquarium end of Madeira Drive today. Amazed because B&H council closed Madeira Drive to vehicles at the start of lockdown. It was for use by cycles and pedestrians only. This caused no end of trouble (to put it mildly) in Brighton and Hove.

On a recent trip to London on the crowded underground all the commuters we saw were following the Covid legislation to wear masks on public transport. After 19th July the rule goes and we will be free to make our own decisions. It'll be interesting to see what commuters do.
