I loved this chunk of nature so much I bought it home to put on the patio. So much life has happened and continues to happen in one large piece of what looks to be a fallen cliff.

🎨 Wandering through Le Panier, Marseille’s oldest and boldest district – every wall is a canvas, every alley a story

From graffiti to paste-ups, art peeks out of every corner

☀️ The salty breeze, pastel facades and raw textures breathe life into this Mediterranean maze

Here, street art isn’t decoration – it’s identity. Le Panier is Marseille at its most authentic.

Coffee shops and restaurants seem to be doing better than banks and building societies in Brighton. Thinking about it you can't take a coffee shop or a restaurant online. They need customers through the door. Blend and Brew have definitely made their shop more appealing.

The police directed the March away from the main traffic and down a side street towards the Peace Memorial at Hove. People watched from their windows and recorded the action.

Something good did come out of 2020. On April 30th, after 97 days of crowd funding the money was raised to carry out the refurbishment of this tunnel with the most beautiful and appropriate mural, a new welcome to Saltdean sign and a new notice board. The mural was designed and created by local metal workers to withstand life on the seafront, only requiring an occasional wipe down.

An evening out starting with a glass of wine in the Waterfront Hotel and then on to see Bryan Adams in a magical concert.

The English oak is said to be woven into the history and folklore of England.

Druids would worship in oak groves, couples would marry under their spreading branches and the Yule Log, decorated for Christmas with holly and mistletoe, was traditionally cut from oak. Acorns, the fruit of the oak, were carried by folk as charms to bring good luck and good health.

Walking along to catch a bus in Hove I saw this strange collection of bits and bobs mixed in with a bit of nature. It was in a corner of the pavement and made me wonder how this little lot came to end life together.

I shall bore the pants of my viewers for the next 6 months ;-))) with starling images.

Sailing on the horizon and fishing from the beach.

I think I need to clean the windows 😯

As I was walking into Brighton Station I saw this guy just getting this full length, vibrant coat out of a plastic bag handed to him by a young lady. I stopped to talk to him and he told me that the young lady, Saffron, had made the coat for him to his design. I commented that it was a Joseph coat and he said that was what he was thinking of.

I knew Saturday was going to be a dry day with the possibility of some sunshine. So I decided it was time for some wildlife and I headed to the British Wildlife Centre (britishwildlifecentre.co.uk)

A great day - the sun shone and the animals all came out and posed in perfect light. Here’s another little poser from the day.

We have a pair of swans that have lived in the marina for as longer as I remember. The management security are very protective of them so they have their own boardwalk to nest on which is positioned around the back of the inner harbour. They seem to have signets each year but I've only ever seen one survive to adulthood.

Happy days but I'm not sure how he's driving with people chatting in in front of his view.

Strolling through the historic streets of Wil, soaking up the timeless charm and golden sunrise. The Rathaus and its vibrant flags add a touch of history to this picturesque scene. 🇨🇭✨

Rathayatra is a festival for Lord Krishna and His devotees. It's an extraordinary spiritual event that originates in Jagannatha Puri on the east coast of India and dates back over 2,000 years.

Everyone chants the Hare Krishna maha-mantra with musical instruments and drums along with dancing in ecstasy as Krishna in His most merciful form of Jagannatha is pulled along on a huge wooden cart.

The areas that I've walked in this summer have been remarkably short of butterflies, bees and insects in general. Then last week as I walked across Kemp Town gardens on Black Rock this Fatsia Japonica bush was alive with all of the missing insects from the summer and they were happy posing for my photographs. The stars of the show were the Red Admiral Butterflies which were on most of the flowers along with chubby bees, sparkly greenflies, tiny insects and these little stripy fellas which I decided were wasps but I wasn't sure. They certainly enjoyed annoying the butterflies.

I was told by a Flickr friend Gary, who specialises in photographing butterflies, that these are red admirals and the south coast is their last stop in the UK en route to the warmer climates in Europe.

Sadly when I walked around the new one way system there were more staff than visitors.

Coronavirus - the way out of lockdown series

And a man fishing from a boat and a seagull hoping for lunch.

Not forgetting the Rampion windfarm.

In October 2021 the ITV returned to Brighton to record the new series of Peter James detective series 'Grace'. The first few days were filmed on Black Rock and the old library on Dukes Mound. Then the filming moved on to other parts of the city. The security guards were fine with me taking photos but asked me not to post them on social media till they'd finished filming...... then I forgot to post them.
