When I walked into the lounge today my pretty pink roses were all hanging their little heads. They weren't dying, just hanging their heads.
I looked and thought 'they look just like I feel'.

Out with my friends last week and one of them took this grab shot of me in my silly glasses watching the seagulls.
My early morning exercise gives me the opportunity to try out different of my iPhone. Today I’ve learned how simple it is to take panorama’s. This was uploaded straight from my iPhone to Flickr. If I'd edited it I would have desaturated a little. The right seascape is an added bonus.
I think all the engine drivers at the event are trained in PR. Like Robin they were all happy to stop whatever they were doing and pose for photo's and laugh and joke in the process.
the air smelled of salt and damp stones. the sea had been restless for days, throwing waves against the rocks as if trying to break free from its own borders. but now, for a moment, it seemed to hold its breath. the last light of the sun shimmered on the water, carving out the silhouette of a lone walker, lost in thought or simply carried by routine. behind him, the clouds gathered, thick and heavy, waiting. maybe he felt it too. the weight of what was coming.
Leake Street Tunnel (also known as the Banksy Tunnel) is a road tunnel in Lambeth, London where graffiti is tolerated regardless of the fact that it is against the law. The street is about 300 metres long, runs off York Road and under the platforms and tracks of Waterloo station.
The walls are decorated with graffiti, initially created during the Cans Festival organised by Banksy on 3–5 May 2008. The festival ran again on the August Bank Holiday weekend 2008.
Graffiti from the 2008 Cans Festival included Banksy's Injured Buddha and Sten Lex's Saint.
While the Eurostar terminal was at Waterloo, the road was open for through vehicular traffic. On 14 November 2008 ownership of the road passed from Eurostar to Network Rail and through traffic was restricted to pedestrians.
Prior to the 1920s the street was known as York Street.

This is the young lady who put a 'Road Closed' sign in front of my car when I went to drive across the Brighton race track. Lucky for me she showed where I could stand safely and take photo's when the horses thundered past. Before the race started I took the opportunity to ask if I could take her photo and she happily posed.

I'm not quite sure what's happening here. Its the main Black Rock Beach which is now behind the new sea defence wall. The machine is levelling the beach starting from the sea and moving the pebbles to mounds in front of the wall. I'm guessing they're going to reshape it into trenches like the rest of the beach, Time will tell.
I followed this elderly man sweeping for a few minutes. A seemingly ordinary moment that might be overlooked, but I loved the subtle grace, care and diligence with which he worked. These small glimpses and fleeting moments are why I love street photography!
The stained glass windows of the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris represent one of the most important collections of Gothic stained glass windows of the 13th century. Commissioned by Louis IX to house relics of the Passion of Christ, including the crown of thorns, the chapel was built between 1241 and 1248. The upper chapel, with its 15 windows about 15 meters high, illustrates approximately 1,113 scenes from the Old and New Testaments, in a narrative that should be read from left to right and from bottom to top. This visual storytelling technique was intended to convey biblical stories to a largely illiterate population, functioning as a true 'Bible of stone and glass'. Although damaged during the French Revolution, the stained glass windows were preserved and the building restored in the 19th century. Today, the Sainte-Chapelle is a historical monument with no religious function, standing out as a masterpiece of radiant Gothic architecture.
My morning walk took me round the east side harbour wall and I came across these photographers with a huge amount of serious gear. I loved the shadows and the red dress.
Black Rock has had some wonderful murals and graffiti over the years. My personal albums are choc-o-bloc full of these artworks but I try any only post them on Flickr if there are relevant objects or people around the art. This wonderful piece warrants its own slot.
Saltdean Lido is a Grade 11 listed art deco building. It was designed by William Herbert Jones and opened in 1938. eighty years later, in 2018, it was named by English Heritage as one of the Seven Wonders of the English Seaside.
After years of neglect the restoration so far is magnificent and different areas have already opened including the pool, a gym, the library and the café.
Outside the cafe, she stood, texted, finished the cigarette and continued her way into the night.

It was about 7 am when I saw these guys coming towards me on the way to the beach with their boat. My eyes quickly checked the background and the sky - all perfect. I asked if I could take their photo and they laughed and said yes but then carried on pulling the boat until they stopped in front of the rubbish bins. At the same time I noticed another guy walking left into my frame. Fortunately I managed to click twice before two refuse collectors in hi viz yellow waistcoats started to empty the bins behind my frame. You couldn’t make it up!!
a man drifts through a slice of light like thought through memory, suspended in a fleeting geometry of shadow and stone. the ground beneath him is history — uneven, worn, deliberate — and above, forgotten sneakers swing like relics of stories once lived.
This art piece features the photographer as both the subject and creator, exploring the duality of light in photography. A man, who is the photographer, sits on a bench holding an umbrella, shielding himself from a strong light source. The umbrella creates a striking silhouette against the textured brick wall, emphasizing the contrast between light and darkness.
A weekend never goes by without seeing a few mods on their vibrant scooters on the roads of Brighton. Brighton wouldn't be Brighton without them.
I love the textures, the shapes, the colours and the grime in this shot. They're the sort of things I only notice when I've taken the subject, which in this shot was the seagull crossing the crossing.
These guys had secured the best viewing spot on a corner where all the old cars came past. They'd arrived well prepared with their flask of tea and their chair.
I follow a Flickr site called 'Photo Tricks' and I'm intrigued as to how the photographer creates what is clearly a trick.
This photo isn't a trick... it is as I took it ? I don't now how the lamp post curved in the same direction as the turntable ladder. If it was because I moved then the image would have blurred but its clear. Wish I knew what I did as it creates quite a neat affect which is in harmony with the scene.

Bridgetown, Barbados - January 2025: Crowds interact on a bustling street in Bridgetown, Barbados. The late afternoon sun casts a warm glow on colorful buildings as pedestrians navigate their daily routines.
The location, Bridgetown, is the capital and largest city of Barbados
Hanningtons was a department store located in a central position in Brighton with an unbroken history of trading for nearly 200 years until its closure in 2001. This beautiful mural remains as a reminder.
This stunning portrait of a bear aims to raise awareness of IAR’s Break the Cage campaign.
Walking through the Brighton Laines I came across this beautiful mural tucked in an alleyway off Bond Street. I recognised the artist as Amy Kelly Miller @amykm.art who does some fabulous work for International Animal Rescue. I’ve photographed some amazing work of hers around the Laines and around local schools. She’s created some fabulous murals of orangutans rescued and rehabilitated by Uckfield-based International.
