Being on the right track to work, knowledge comes first, but when you exercise very hard and long enough, you will begin to learn that you get light with personal experience and awakening, self-evolution and awareness to remember yourself, progressing in work, but life in general. Following the past with knowledge and understanding of ourselves, we finally become free and we can see what we are and where we are. We can learn everything and become top masters of the technique, without actually being on the right track and fully understanding the whole process. What about the feelings, the emotions, the story, what we want to say and show, is it a personal attitude or? Film is magic, photography in general too and we should never stop experimenting.

Took these pictures for the Tell A Story in Five Frames group (which seems to be defunkt - though I'll post there anyway just in case). Thought Busy 2 would work for the Macro Monday group too.

Three women sit together chatting and sharing stories, unnoticed by the world passing behind them except for this wandering intrigued and curious photographer.

I was happy to see she remembered her manners and wiped her face without being asked.

Toshiba announces details of new offices, call and service centres (and says it is now number three notebook brand, but wants to be number two) at a glittering gala in mid-winter.

It was freezing on the ferry deck. Magda pointed out this guy in a T-shirt casually vaping and, as she often does, encouraged me to take a photograph. I saw the potential to make a strong graphic composition, and when this lady stepped into the frame, her black jacket provided the perfect background to the smoke.

I like the sense of movement, the atmosphere and the structure in the frame.

Oostende’s promenade is the ultimate catwalk—where you’ll find everything from beach vibes and smart casual to formal flair and fabulous ethnic styles, all strutting side by side. It’s like a fashion show where everyone’s invited, and I’m here for the fabulous mix!

We were moored in Hull and these guys were fascinated by the harbour activities as the ferry was loaded with trucks and containers.

I'm told these little things are gold weights from the Ivory Coast -- anyone have more insight?

Original sketch for Waste Lands, A4 paper (210 × 297 mm).

The main character walks alone in the environment and watches a world where changes just happens in the decay direction.

I was trying to depict a scene lost in a century that could be XVIII, XIX or XX. However, the scenario turns a bit in the apocalyptic direction: it could be related to a great war as well as a dystopian nightmarish future.

It’s a moment in time that feels suspended. The photograph slows the world into this instant. There’s no urgency, no rush—just life, quietly happening. Moments like this remind us of how often we exist in the in-between spaces, not in grand events or big gestures, but in the small, unnoticed slices of life where time seems to stretch and pause. A child playing, and a group of friends chatting, are all part of a bigger picture we rarely stop to consider. But if you look closely, you see it— the reflection of every human experience in these fleeting, ordinary moments.

This image fits perfectly into my Anonymous series because, once again, it's not about seeing a face but about capturing the essence of a moment. The lady in the hat becomes an everywoman, her hidden face inviting the viewer to project themselves into the scene.

Oh, a big box of chocs for me?

Thank you! This year, ...

I love colour synergies and when I saw this couple walking along with her yellow shorts and his yellow bag, and all that yellow in the scene, how could I resist taking the shot?

Is there a great artistic point to the photo? Not really. It's just for the joy of seeing and making a picture that playfully connects colour across the frame, a visual pun and a bit of fun.

He slowly made his way wrapped in warm clothes and the crisp morning light, taking the day one step at a time.

Leo’s Yawning Masterclass 4/9

His poker face: indifference sculpted in fur.

Here is the poker face. No whisker moves, no flicker of emotion. Just indifference, sculpted into fur. My mother has returned to her seat, resuming the drama with Leo, and I am left in the middle, pleading with a sphinx. His silence is louder than any yawn. It says: “I do not care. You are beneath my notice.” This is the hardest moment for any artist — when the muse withdraws, when inspiration refuses to answer. And yet, I know this is part of the ritual. The poker face is not the end. It is the test. If I endure it, if I remain humble, perhaps he will return to me.

These two were having such a laugh on the beach that I couldn’t resist asking what was so funny. But their tears of laughter only got worse, and between giggles and gasps, no explanation came. I walked away with a smile and absolutely no idea what the joke was! It was lovely to come across them and capture the moment, and now looking at the photo makes me smile again.

An empty gallery filled with silent presence. Shot inside the Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea (CGAC), this image plays with reflections, soft lighting, and minimal composition. The lone black chair becomes a sculptural element within a space curated for thought and perception. An invitation to pause, observe, and disappear into stillness.

On a whim, I "splurged" and purchased an Amaryllis belladonna bulb which was just beginning to sprout, at Trader Joe's on December 23, 2023. I was totally unsure whether it would really flower, as I had never had one before. My husband and I were amazed and delighted by the entire growth process, the beauty of every part of the plant, and the delicate scent of the flowers! I decided to do a photographic study, which began on the day of purchase and has continued through today, February 1, 2024. It bloomed not once, but twice and still has one last perfect flower, which will fade within a few more days, as have the other three of the four-blossom "crown." The $9.99 (US dollars) that was spent, turned out to pay dividends!

San Francisco reveals a dynamic blend of architectural styles in this urban streetscape. The image captures a mix of curtain-wall glass façades and textured masonry towers rising into clear blue skies. The central stepped tower draws the eye with its postmodern symmetry and varied surface detailing, while surrounding buildings offer contrasting grids and curves. A broad staircase in the foreground leads up to a lush pocket park, adding greenery to the dense urban core. Framed by pedestrians and mid-rise structures, the composition reflects the city’s evolving architectural identity—where modern development and human scale meet on steep, storied streets.

Leo’s Yawning Masterclass 7/9

The Deep Look — eyes open, dreaming worlds awake.

The Deep Look. This is the first act of Leo’s triptych. His eyes open wide, but they are not looking at me, nor at the kitchen. They are looking inward, or perhaps outward, into the dream-worlds he inhabits. Few can do this: to be awake and yet channel the gravity of the hidden worlds. It is a look that silences the room, that makes even my mother pause her television. This is not a cat. This is a medium, a bridge between worlds. The Deep Look is not for me alone. It is for all who witness it, a reminder that art begins in silence, in focus, in the unseen.

Surrounded by choices, we make our own decisions what to chose. There will always be guiding factors for our choices. At the end of the day, we should be happy. Its same with the music.

There’s nothing quite like sitting with a friend, diving deep into stories, swapping ideas, and pondering life’s great mysteries... or maybe just debating the best way to enjoy a day at the beach!

George Johnson, our instructor in Visual Story, describes our first visual story assignment:

Create a interactive story using still frames.

Wrapped in soft blue and quiet thoughts, she sat in a world of her own. The beach stretched out before her, but her mind wandered further. In this moment, her face is unseen, leaving room for you to step into her world. This is the essence of 'Anonymous': capturing the space where identity fades and the shared human experience becomes the focal point. We are left to wonder what she’s thinking, perhaps even seeing a reflection of our own thoughts in her solitude.
