I think I will always be lonely
in this world, where the cattle
graze like a black and white river--
where the vanishing lilies
melt, without protest, on their tongues--
where the hummingbird, whenever there is a fuss,
just rises and floats away.
-- Mary Oliver, "Lilies"
Taken with camera phone.

I worked on this old family photo for the first week first assignment in Susan Tuttle's Visual Poetry workshop.
Visual Poetry W4/P2
I took a picture of my husband earlier this year as he stood in the cold wind outside of my booth at Art in the Park in Orange, Texas. Behind him is one of their many beautiful historic homes located around Stark Park where Art in the Park is held.
The layer I added is one of the many sunset pictures I have taken at our wild game lease in South Texas.
Las gentes ya tienen el alma cuadrada,
ideas en fila
y ángulo en la espalda.
(Even people now have square souls,
Ideas in file, I declare,
And on their shoulders, angles wear.)

Visual Poetry W3/P2 (with a layer from les brumes).
I designed this piece yesterday using a vintage rhinestone piece, crystal quartz nuggets, Swarovski crystal rondells and a vintage sterling silver bracelet for today's sale. It sold!
Ceramic piece and photo are mine, the poem is John M Bennett's, and Jim Leftwich painted the cloth and did further digital manipulation of my photo.
