From my favorite sidewalk corner in Houston. -------- I happened to be driving by it one day and came upon a crew of men standing on it. Sledgehammering it to pieces. They were throwing broken pieces of literally concrete vocabulary into a trailer piled high with concrete-powder-to-be. It was all to make space for a sidewalk made with new-less crooked-less unbroken-bland-blank planks of concrete. I saved as many of them as I could. -------- This one's sitting on a mirror.

This is a assemblage I created with canvas that I stencils and over-stamped. I made it for a journal cover, but i decided to turn it into a hanging instead. I printed a photo transfer onto a rust dyed muslin square and sewed that onto the canvas. I added vintage buttons on to the corners. I then hung the work on an aspen bough with netting strips.
Every shot is a small poem without words. Here, I capture fleeting moments that speak louder than any language.
