This is similar to reading tea leaves. It's a process for reading the future called Burning The Toast, I'm sure you are all familiar with toast when it is burnt beyond the point you would want to eat it...this particular reading was a bit too blurry to read but it seemed to have something to do with May 12, 2007.

A group on RedBubble had a challenge asking "As a woman, what is it that makes you want to scream?" Others' expectations of me as a "woman" drive me crazy and make me feel double-minded, as if I must choose between my relationships with others and being true to myself. It's taken me a long time to see that true relationships, deeply fulfilling relationships, form only when one is simply who one is, relinquishing ill-fitting roles, labels, and expectations. The most surprising thing of all was to learn that in the areas I felt I had failed the most (according to social expectations) I actually did the best once I let go and simply let myself be...me.

Memories of Wyoming
This is a piece inspired by memories of growing up on the high prairies and mountains of Wyoming. This is not a delicate piece…it has heft and is made with metal, bones, and stone, and the weight of an artist’s memories.
I used a found object/ metal base and added interesting a stone wheel with the text “The land of clouds and regions of waters” from a William Blake poem.
I further embellished the stone with a bone ring, a tiny bulb with a secret message inside and wire beaded findings. The modern components fit strangely well with the stone and bone. The white bone piece is an old piece of jawbone that I found many years ago on the sagebrush flats in Wyoming. I added a white bird of hope. The piece has an old painted and rusted spring, a tiny buffalo charm, along with wire, more text from Blake and other items of interest. The size is 6 inches by 10 inches. I spotted this tiny three-wheeled van in Oostende, hauling a jumble of stuff. Its sky-blue paint and improbable cargo turned an everyday vehicle into something sculptural – half transport, half artwork. A reminder that even utility can look surreal when you catch it at the right angle.
