“Is there anything going to happen?” I was asked by a lady passing by, while I was taking this image.

“Beg your pardon?”

“Why are there so many photographers? Is there anything going to happen?”

I smiled: “Take a look, it is happening right now!”

“Now? Where? I don’t see anything.”

“Well, look at the beautiful sunset taking place behind one of the most photogenic buildings in the world.”

“Oh that - and I thought something was going to happen…”

Without a second glance, she turned and walked away.

Obviously, not everybody is blessed with the photographer's view of beauty.

Merry Xmas to all!

Picture taken from the window of a train on the Settle & Carlisle line.

The view being Lake Louise in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada.

Took this the other day on my way for an appointment. I just had to try to capture such a dramatic sky and light. This is a wider view than the one I posted a few days ago.

Happy Xmas!

Another view from my parent's backyard, looking southeast.

The view from the Tack Room early one morning as I returned from walking Tasku. This was about 6.40am, the light was lovely, as it was most mornings but then the sun disappeared and it got very windy and cold.

View from the path from Holyhead Country Park that heads towards Holyhead Mountain. Looking back along the the path towards Holyhead and it's harbour and two of the ferries that go from there to Ireland.

Views from Tsambika church, high above the east coast of Rhodes island, Greece. It's a 20 minute walk on concrete steps all the way to the top from the end of the narrow mountain road, the views are are worth the effort.

Ever-Changing Scene:

In Yosemite, you may never witness the same scene twice.

"This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise, somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on seas and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls"

- John Muir

Thank you so much for visiting.

Please, fav or comment only when you really like my photo not just for pimping up your algorithm.

Thx, really appreciate it.

Another lovely view, from the walk up St John's Hill. Aren't those gardens fabulous? I'd love a long garden!

Red Rock Canyon Overlook shot with an old 4x5 camera using Ilford FP4.

This viewpoint on the way down from Hurricane Ridge affords a great view of Mount Baker and Dungeness Spit where we had been messing about on the beach earlier in the day (just to the right of the fog bank)

This shot was taken off tripod straight through my (not so very clean :-)) living room windows when the sun had just gone up. I couldn't open the doors because then the dogs would have chased the Roe Deer away. In stead they molested me for not letting them out, while trying to take this shot! Still, I kind of like the result. And to me, it will always be só very special, having a view like this.

The Buzzard shot below was shot through the (even dirtier) windows on the other side of the living room.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!!

La Madre Mountain Wilderness - 3/25/'16

Located just West of Las Vegas, NV

This is the view from where I work, I admit it, I must be one of the luckiest people to have such a beautiful view as this and work in a place I really enjoy. The view out of my window takes in the hills and mountains of Argyllshire, the beautiful River Clyde and so much more.

An R70 Transports Publics du Chablais [TPC] service had completed its call at Leysin Village station in May 2024 while on the descent from Leysin-Grand-Hôtel to Aigle in the Rhône Valley.

I am very lucky to have a rooftop in Hong Kong which is not obscured by skyscrapers!
