Our first stop after gearing up was the Audrey C. Rust Commemorative Site, a short out & back from the parking lot. The view past Mindego Hill to the Pacific was the best we've had in a long while.

Edinburgh, Scotland. The Dugald Stewart Monument. I have to agree with Robert Louis Stevensen who said that the view from Calton Hill was one of the best. I found this view myself only at the last minute. I had scouted other views including Arthurs seat, but nothing compares to this one. We were so struck by it, that after touring the highlands and Skye for several days, we returned here before leaving Scotland for one last view.
