View of Breede River

Probably the iconic view of the English lakes in Cumbria, UK. You'll see thousands similar!

It has an interesting history as not all of the tarn is "natural".

This sky masterpiece presented itself to us on our way home from dinner tonight.

Sorry about all the clutter in the foreground.

This view looks southwest from the top floor of the Margiani House Museum Svan tower at Mestia in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region, Georgia. The rocky peak at center rises to c. 3,950 m. some 20 km distant. The peak to its left rises to c. 3,980 m. The Lailchala River Valley lies beyond the forested ridges in the foreground.

The sun going down with the town hall dominating the view and looking splendid

This isn't a new photo. And it's not a terribly great photo. It's at least a couple of years old, back when I was using my old camera. In this shot I was trying to do a focus stack with only two photos, one focused near, and one focused far. It worked out pretty well.

You can see why one of Cincinnati's nicknames is "City of Trees".

There were problems, of course, with this photo. I did lots of work on it, moving things, painting things, using sliders on filters etc. So I'm putting it into Slider's Sunday group. HSS!

I wanted to say hi to you all, and that's the reason I posted this.

I am still working on my house, trying to make an apartment for my son and his wife. Clearing, cleaning, and packing away 36 years of my daughter's belongings, scrubbing everything down, moving whole rooms to other rooms etc. I haven't picked up my camera in a couple of weeks. But I still look at all your shots, every day!

If I don't have time, or energy, to comment, please know that I am looking at each one of your works of art/life/nature/people/cities/activities/explorations etc. with great interest, as always.

For the first picture from Chile, but certainly not the last, I chose to post this view of the Andes looking toward Torres del Paine from Puerto Natales.

Chile is truly a spectacular country! Patagonia is amazing. If you have a chance to visit, this is a place not to miss. Man made Chile very narrow, but God made it great!

View from the top near Marshall Pass, Colorado.

Author Walter Scott's favourite view of the river Tweed, with the Eildon Hills near Melrose in the distance.

A westbound South Shore train is at the west end of Wagner Siding and the Ideal Section with it's North Shore style catenary bridges. A pair of former Penn Central Geeps roll along with a coil steel train. December 1976.

This view is from the fairly famous lookout at St. Mary's lake in Montana. Although the weather was good (i'm complaining - the weather usually means this place is shut down 8 months a year), it wasn't an absolutely spectacular photo - but a cool one nonetheless. I like this little island in the middle of the lake, with these huge mountains surrounding it. kinda like a natural amphitheatre to see some amazing weather. I think i'm getting spoilt with all the cool things we've seen.
