Grand View Point, Canyonlands National Park, UT
Just wanted to say thank you to all of my followers, I just reached 1,000. I must say, Flickr has got to be my favorite form of social media for photography. My photography has improved so much since joining this great community of photographers. I appreciate all of the interactions I have with everyone. To those of you that have followed me for a while now, thanks, I hope you've enjoyed my progression as a photographer. For those of you that are more recent, thanks for following along!
This image is from a trip to Canyonlands National Park after this past Thanksgiving. At sunrise I was all the way down to the very tip of Grand View Point, after shooting there for a bit, we hiked back the way we came when I came across this scene. The light was incredible as it filled the canyon. After capturing a few images, my fiancé and I sat down and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the morning as our legs hung off the edge of the canyon.
In other news, I recently had one of my images (www.flickr.com/photos/steve_pulver/36746019492/in/datepos...) selected to be in my first ever juried photo show. The show is at the Lone Tree Arts Center, in Lone Tree, CO. Opening reception is March 31st from 1-3pm. Come say hi if you'd like!! My photo will be on display through May.
As always, thanks for engaging with my photos. I really enjoy it!

The Queen’s View in Highland Perthshire overlooks Loch Tummel and is said to have been named after Queen Victoria, following her visit to the area in 1866.
It has also been suggested that the view was in fact named after King Robert the Bruce’s wife, Queen Isabella of Scotland, over 550 years earlier.
Either way, I doubt they would have liked the electricity pylons that now run across the hills.
Thanks to John McSporran for details of this location.
Minster views from EastGate Beverley the archway was part of the Friary, not situated on the other side of EastGate very close to Minster Yard Take with an iPhone SE Camera. The two pumps are part of EastGate and archways of the old Friary!
A view before I dropped down to the arch. Sligachan Bridge in Skye. I had to clone out a couple of people taking "selfies" [they walked onto the bridge, just as the cloud cleared from the peaks!] how can you stare at yourself with a view like this?!
View of the town of Stykkishólmur from the ferry Baldur, as we depart on the 2.5 hour trip across Breidafjördur Bay to the Westfjords. The colorful volcanic mountain DrápuhlÃðarfjall is in the background, along with other overcast peaks of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. SW Iceland

Michigan
Sable Falls, nestled within Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, is a breathtaking cascade that tumbles 75 feet down a series of sandstone ledges before flowing into Lake Superior.
Suprise view is failrly accesable to all with a small car park opposite the view. Cloud covers the summit of Skiddaw as can often be the case
On a late summer evening Ogilvie Ridge offers panoramic views along the Dempster Highway in Canada's Yukon Territory.
Here, the highway crosses the continental divide on its journey north to the Arctic Ocean. The landscape bears the marks of frequent fires, evident from the dead trees and the regrowth of vegetation. Looking east, you can see across the Ogilvie River valley to the Ogilvie Mountains. The Ogilvie River drains via the Peel and Mackenzie Rivers to the Arctic Ocean. Rivers on the other side of the continental divide drain into the Yukon River and ultimately the Bering Sea. Interestingly, the region's drainage patterns have shifted over the past 30,000 years. The massive Laurentide ice sheet, which once covered most of Canada, advanced to divert the drainage to the west through the valley now occupied by the small Eagle River. As the ice sheet retreated, it allowed the rivers to carve new channels northwards. This dynamic history is etched into the landscape, offering a glimpse into the powerful forces that have shaped this remote and beautiful part of the world.
Taken in Bay View, Michigan.
While this "cottage" is bigger than many in Bay View, it is typical of the architectural style with lots of ginger bread. You'll note the dragons on the roof, hence the name. Carpenters, roofers, landscapers and painters must consider the area a gold mine given all the maintenance required. You can get a sense of why so many of the buildings are on the national historical registry.
From Wikipedia:
"Bay View, Michigan is an example of two uniquely American community forms: the Methodist camp meeting and the independent Chautauqua. Designed for the first purpose in 1876 as the county’s only romantically-planned campground, and adapted for the second from 1885 to 1915, Bay View constitutes a well-executed ideal Victorian summer community that has remained in continuous operation since its foundation."

Looking South West towards Downtown Los Angeles. The 110 Freeway has a few tunnels that pass through to the North East of Downtown. The Park Row Drive bridge has been a popular photo spot for a long time. An aerial view of a very well known location.
