Lovely school girls I met on the street of Bangkok near the Benjasini Park. I loved their cute school uniforms, I had to stop them for a picture, they did not understood English but sign language was no problem, all I did was touch my clothes and point at them and thumb up!

I wonder what he was planning to film.

I love videography and she does also.

Filmpje van deze trein / Little movie of this train

---

TUC-Rail 7826 is seen in Hennuyères with a varied work train from Antwerpen-Berendrecht to Monceau, whilst train driver Finn wakes up Hennuyères, as you can see and hear in this little movie.

[Edit] A car was digitally removed, but can of course be seen in the video.

Brig "Pilgrim"

Dana Point, CA

09-10-2016

This is a composite commemoration for the tall ship replica, Pilgrim, which has been anchored in Dana Point harbor since 1981, The replica ship, converted to the brig Pilgrim from a three masted schooner replica originally built in 1945, took on water a few weeks ago, and sank in place.

So far, efforts to right her have failed. The ship is a staple of the Dana Point harbor. The original Pilgrim, which sank in 1856, was the ship Richard Henry Dana, for whom Dana Point is named, wrote about in the classic account of a sea voyage between Massachusetts and California in the book "Two Years Before the Mast".

That book originally stoked my own love of the sea and tall ships, and hopefully someday I will be able to sail on one, if only on a cruise.

This photo is a composite. I spent a couple of hours this morning painting in the sky, which is from a photo I took in San Pedro in March of 2017. I tried to add a layer of reflected clouds in the water, but with so much reflected, I had to slide opacity down pretty low. and by the time I'd erased the reflected clouds layer from all the reflections of the dock posts and boats, not too many 'reflected" clouds can even be seen.

The photo of the ship is noteworthy because it was taken only an hour or so before I was standing on the breakwater when the errant wave snuck up behind, me splashing my Rebel t5i and my Panasonic videocamera, ruining both of them.

The Pilgrim replica has a long history in Dana Point, and was used by the school system for many field trips. It also was used as a training vessel for potential sailors, as are the Exy and Irving Johnson, docked near where I live in the L.A. Harbor.

Near Castle Arcade, on Castle Street, Cardiff (Caerdydd), Wales (Cymru), United Kingdom, on Saturday 17th of June 2023.

About the photograph.

The photo was taken on Castle Street, about half-way between the junctions of High Street and Womanby Street. This location is very near the Revolution restaurant and the Castle Arcade.

I spotted this guy taking videos of the crowd gathering together, in the build up for the parade, I have no idea who he works for, not even sure if he is with the BBC or with ITN, or for all I know, he could be with another news channel.

I would say that I was inspired by some of the behind the scenes programmes that goes with a television show or movie, where they would talk and show how they did it.

So I figured a photo of the videographer would show what it’s like for a film crew to be doing the filming of a Pride parade.

The photo was shot in colour, but I used Adobe Lightroom to convert it into black and white, hoping it would help make them stand out.

About the event.

Pride Cymru was previously called Cardiff Mardi Gras when it was formed in September 1999. It held annual festival in Bute Park. It became a registered charity in 2010, and starting from 2012, they held a parade through the city centre.

In 2014, Cardiff Mardi Gras was renamed to Pride Cymru, and had operated under the new name ever since the change of name.

Pride Cymru is in reality a weekend event, often called Pride Cymru Big Weekend, and attracts up to 50,000 people over the three days, with Saturdays having the parade through the city centre.

The route for the parade is approximately about more or less one mile in length, and would take anyone approximately up to an hour to complete the route.

Because I was doing photojournalism, trying to find interesting shots, therefore I often sometimes walk back and forth, up and down the parade, so it would take me about a couple of hours to do the photo-shoot.

That day was a very hot and strong sunny day, and I some sunburn.

St. Luke's Anglican Church held an outdoor event Sunday, November 5, 2023 but I did not get the memo.

I showed up at the kirk cemetery at 9:20a.m. thinking it was 10:20a.m. because the clocks changed time and I didn't get that memo either.

So, that was a write-off but I returned today to see what was missed.

Apparently, some Remembrance Day tributes were places on the many veteran's graves in the cemetery.

BTW after checking St. Luke (apparently it's no longer St. Luke's) Event Calendar, there is no event listed for November 5th 2023.

I've included a collage and video link from 2022.

especially former psychiatric hospitals.

A little research led us to this place and we explored all afternoon the nooks and crannies of the Manteno State Hospital.

It was a mental health hospital once home to 8,000 patients.

Little remains and what does has fallen into a decrepit state.

I shot this whole little exploration on a chest mounted GoPro Hero3 Black videocamera and posted it to youtube... you can check it out HERE

This is the room that we walked into at 3:16 on the video and you can see my flash firing... but this picture was taken without flash to capture the streams of light from the holes in the roof at 8:30 in the video... you can see just how dark it was and you can see how much light that the D700 'found' to create this image.

- I was wondering around the centre of old Brussels and saw this pair doing some interesting stuff. Of course I was not the only one as there was a filming crew about too. I don't think it was pre-arranged. The guy doing the percussion instrument, is that a marimba?

This cube & square sculpture seems to be unpopular as I couldn't find any information about it. Shame, I quite like it. On the left you can see City Hall, a design from 1914-1920 by Henri Evers. It has a concrete skeleton and Beaux-Arts, Byzantine, Romanesque en Art deco influences.

Still happy with this miracle camera, on the side... it takes stunning 20Mp Piccies when not in video mode and 12Mp in video mode, handy little thing....

Thursday I drove to St. Luke's Church Cemetery to look things over.

Our volunteer coordinator sent out a message yesterday announcing the next cleanup day at the site.

Next week will be when the Remembrance Day 2023 ceremony preparations will be carried out.

These volunteers will include persons affiliated with the church, students and military personnel.

All this is an annual event throughout the city. Lest We Forget.

This year NMBS launched a Happy Train - a stickered Desiro with best wishes for Christmas and New Year. As it was running in the morning of the 19th of December in my neighbourhood, I decided to take the chance to get a photo of this Christmas Desiro.

As surprise, the Smurf Desiro was also running in 2nd position in this InterCity train from Brussels Airport to Dinant!

Nice to see!

With this picture of this 'Happy Train', I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and my best wishes for 2019!
