Fever of the worn Land.
The city, inhabited by ghosts, has disappeared, abandoned buildings are melting down, returning to the earth.
Fever is coming from a worn land, crossed by animals that seem to have forgetfullness of the human being.
This is the work of DAL East, Chinese street artist, born in 1984.
One of the most promising artists of the new international scene. Painter, photographer, sculptor and video maker, the work of DAL is representative of a new season in street art.
He is taking from contemporary art a multidisciplinary approach and a critical vision and combining it with the spirit of urban art that plays with architectural elements and perspectives.
With ink, brush and spray, DAL starts an incredible journey into the possibilities of art, giving shape and substance firstly to feelings, around which bodies are brought to life.
In his works we can find a gesture that seems a deliberately continuous path. The technique of the sketch becomes the matrix through which DAL has developed a new visual alphabet. The choice is clear, to describe the breath of life, the physical energy hidden in the relationships between elements, being it dark omen or intimate glow.
It may seem an attempt to focus on change and DAL's work contains a reflection on the balance of power through the composition, representing the empty space, leaving emotions uncovered.

Side of the lens.
As you have seen, the focus pathway is long indeed, around 180 degrees. The turning side is clockwise (25cm to infinity), unlike aperture ring, from maximum aperture to minimum requires a counterclockwise turn.
Another cons of this lens is clicking aperture ring. This will be quite annoying to the video makers as sound produced at each stop. But to photographers, this is a good news as you can guess which aperture you are using without looking at lens itself.
To my disappointment (and curiosity), the aperture ring is very near to the lens mount. The reading of the exact aperture is often blocked by pop-up flash hatch (from top), made lots of frustration to know which aperture is using. Huge cons for this but the design is much suitable for mirrorless cameras, as no direct obstructions in viewing it from top of camera angles.

Today is Tit's bday. (4 sep in VN)
Looking at this picture reminds me of the first time I got to touch a DSLR cam and it was his. All the little buttons were pretty but frustratingly confusing, and the first thing I learned, as a pathetic beginner, was to use manual focus mode to erase background (Tit was such an ideal teacher, i'm being sarcastic). Who would teach a beginner nothing but using manual mode to erase background? wtf? Seeing me struggling with the camera, his friend told me that she could even do that on iPhone, which pissed me off and got on my nerves. Thanks to the praise, I decided that I would 'do dai hoc' and buy one cam of my own to learn how to erase background. LOL.
It's been 3 years being your friend and I never regret for once. Yes, three years cause by this time 3 years ago, we'd been in the same Oscar group. 3 years = 1095 days full of ups and downs and sometimes, tears, and fights and hugs, laughters and in short, all kinds of shit, I know one thing that I will never regret. I''m not quite sure if I'm going far with this camera, whether to take photos or to become a video maker, I know one thing for sure that I will never regret having yell-licked Tit for a touch of professionalism.
With love from America <3

The war in ex Yugoslavia started twenty-five years ago in 1991. Firstly it was Slovenia to move towards independence and then the Croatian War of Independence contributed to the continued dismantling of Tito's united Yugoslavia. The conflicts in Bosnia and Kosovo in the mid-nineties completed the bloodiest decade in recent European history.
Twenty-five years have passed since the start of the independence conflicts in the 90s and the Balkans still represent the symbol of the most atrocious war on European soil after the Second World War. The Balkans are only a few hours away from Paris, London, Berlin or Rome by air but Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia are still considered 'strangers' to the European Union. The region still evokes images of Kalashnikovs, mafia and slivovitz fruit brandy, rather than peace and prosperity. Though the dream of the Balkan region was to become part of the common European dream, we are currently witnessing the Balkanization of Europe.
The Balkans represent the heart of Europe, situated at a major crossroads between mainland Europe and the Near East. The identity of the region still represents the point of collision between the former Yugoslav republics. Starting from a period of Ottoman influence, the rule of Christian Orthodoxy to the dominion of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, for the Balkans the whole 20th century was marked by war and corruption.
And what about now?
How do the citizens of the former Yugoslavian republics live today? How do they perceive the war in ex Yugoslavia? What do its younger generations aspire to? What about Yugo-nostalgia and Tito? How is the European Union perceived in the moment of the greatest migrant crisis in European history? And above all: what about dialog in the region?
Goodbye Tito, hello chaos! originally is the motto from the project Balkans and Beyond, launched and edited from the European magazine cafebabel.com that unites fourteen young journalists, photographers and video makers from the region who represented the current political, social and cultural situation across the Balkans through their own lenses. The seven countries were covered: Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Slovenia, Croatia and Macedonia.
Each story was covered by a journalistic partnership, bringing together one writer and one photographer/video-maker. The panel will integrate the presentation of the Balkans and Beyond e-book.
