Due to reorganization, there’s no more room for my section of drawings and texts in Z!, the Amsterdam Street Paper. Such a pity! So … this is my last drawing with text, made for Z!, number 7, 2019.
Ten years ago I started to work here as a photographer, then as a photographer/writer, then as a video maker (oneminutes) and finally as a drawing artist and writer.
It has been an honour to work for this magazine and I have worked with lots of pleasure and all my love.
Thank you Z!, wishing you the best!

Lecture performance ‘Folgen’ by Michelle Teran.
Michelle Teran (CA) presented ‘Folgen’, a 45-minute lecture performance drawing on the existing narratives of video makers found on YouTube to build a multi-layered media landscape of Berlin. Teran’s subjective approach, which weaves together mapping, literature and live performance, combines fragments of images and sound from YouTube videos with her own narration, using the traces video makers have left in the public sphere of the internet to follow people throughout the city. Through this process, the city becomes a place to be inhabited and experienced through another’s narrative — stepping into somebody else’s shoes. The performance is a deliberate mixing between reality and fiction, an interweaving narrative about desire. The many protagonists involved in the making of the work create the stories told during the performance.
The German word ‘Folgen’ has several meanings. As a verb it means ‘to follow’, while as a noun it refers to episodes, consequences, implications or effects. The project draws on several meanings of the word. The act of following someone or something builds up a collection of stories, pieced together in different orders and variations. Concurrently, both the disclosure and the act of following personal information towards its geographical source has unanticipated effects and consequences.

We’re starting to create a time machine for our next art project at ‘Pataphysical Studios. Guests will be invited to step into our magic portal and travel to different time periods, which we will recreate as short scenes, through a variety of audio, video, maker art and mixed media. We’re now brainstorming and prototyping ideas for this interactive art project, which we plan to build collectively in coming years. If you liked the ‘Pataphysical Slot Machine, we hope this new piece will transport you even further. Fire in the hole!

Our tour was a motley crew: curators, artists, a graphic designer, a singer, a writer, a publisher, a film and video maker, etc. We drank coffee and scoffed breakfast while Claire Heafford talks about the tour's focus on enterprise and employability and briefs us about what we can expect.

International exhibition of video-art, photography, installation and performing art
Deadline: May 22, 2014
International ArtExpo is selecting all interesting photo works, video/short films, installations and performing art works to include in the next 2014 exhibition:
Pixels of Identities, international exhibition of photography, video art, installation and performing art which will be held in the prestigious Palazzo Albrizzi in Venice (Italy), from the 06 to the 13 of June 2014 (preview and press conference on June 05, 2014). Pixels of Identities exhibition will be part of the festival MORPHOS which will be organized in Venice in the months between June and November 2014, in the same period of Architecture Biennale.
Artists, photographers and video makers are invited to submit photos, video-art, installations and performing art works, which explore all the different facets of social, physical and cultural identities of our contemporary societies. Everyday we deal with a multitude of different identities and roles: we face the public life creating and adapting our social identities; our body and aesthetic tastes modify and are modified by our physical and sexual identities; our whole being evolves as well as contemporary cultures and modern cities do. Differences create new compounds and exchange possibilities.
Deadline for applications is May 22, 2014
The exhibition will be curated by Arch. Luca Curci (Founder of LUCA CURCI ARCHITECTS and It’s LIQUID Group). The whole city of Venice will be involved during the six months of the Architecture Biennale, hosting international investors, architects, designers, collateral art events, conferences and summits. More venues and curators to be updated.
Palazzo Albrizzi is one of the Venetian aristocracy’s palaces, situated in Cannaregio 4118, near Campo San Paolo. Constructed by the famous Capello family, in the 18th century the Palazzo passed into the hands of the Albrizzi family. The palace is the headquarter of ACIT Venezia, one of the most important Italian-German cultural association, and has often been collateral venue of Venice Biennale.
Submit your works for free. Become one of the selected artists to be involved in this amazing exhibition in Venice!
Deadline for applications is May 22, 2014
To take part in the selection, send your works’ submissions with a CV/biography and some still images (for video-art), pictures of your works via email to lucacurci@lucacurci.com or via mail to:
International ArtExpo
Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 33

The moment has come. A new chapter begins.
--------- Voiceover Script ---------
Do you dare to cross the threshold of the Abstrakt Mansion?
Step into a realm where shadows whisper, and the air hums with the chill of forgotten corridors and the soft glow of flickering candlelight. A place where mystery lingers in every corner… and silence lurks behind every door.
We invite you to an experience wrapped in the elegance of the forbidden. Wander through dimly lit halls and haunted passageways, where each doorway reveals chambers steeped in crimson decadence and timeless gothic beauty.
This space was built for the Abstrakt, for the symbolic and for that which cannot be explained with words.
Bring your most sinister creations. Showcase your darkest visions in a setting where only the bold, the daring, and the beautifully twisted will thrive.
Feeling before understanding, Observe in silence and interpret with your soul.
Cross the veil, and let your imagination take root within the walls of the Abstrakt.
Apply now… if you dare.
