Looking out the window I saw this so I had to grab my camera and capture the scene before it disappeared . 📷😀
Strokkur es un geysir situado en el valle Haukadalur. Eclosiana cada cinco minutos aproximadamente y la nube de agua puede llegar a alcanzar los 20 metros de altura. En el mismo enclave se encuentra el Gran Geysir, el más antiguo conocido y el cual se encuentra actualmente inactivo. Sus nubes de agua y vapor llegaban a alcanzar los 60 metros de altura/ Strokkur is a geysir located in the Haukadalur valley. It erupts every five minutes approximately and the water cloud can reach 20 meters high. In the same location is the Great Geysir, the oldest known and which is currently inactive. Its clouds of water and steam reached 60 meters high.

Siendo hoy el aniversario del primer ferrocarril peninsular, y también del primer ferrocarril portugués, he querido rememorar tal hecho subiendo esta fotografía.
En ella, aparece la locomotora Nº 14 del ferrocarril minero de Riotinto, construida por Beyer & Peacock en 1875, siendo la locomotora más antigua de España en funcionamiento, saliendo de Zarandas-Naya con el tren turístico minero hacia Talleres Mina. Lástima que abriesen el regulador de la máquina cuando terminé la ráfaga...
Saludos al maquinista y al fogonero, y a los viajeros del tren.

Aparece como corriente literaria de carácter fantástico y futurista ligada a la aparición de la máquina de vapor y la revolución industrial del s.XIX. Todos los años se celebra en una antigua estación minera en Fonds-de-Gras (Luxemburgo) una exposición de antiguas máquinas de ferrocarril a vapor y familias enteras vienen ataviadas con trajes de época, adornados con artilugios de todo tipo.

Locomotora de vapor 020-0231 (Ex MZA 601). Rodaje tipo Samson (Société Anonyme de Marcinelle & Couille, Bélgica, 1885).
"Locomotora-tanque situada en pedestal junto al edificio de viajeros de la estación de Delicias, que da la bienvenida a los visitantes que se acercan hasta el Museo del Ferrocarril de Madrid. Fue la primera de la única serie, formada por diez locomotoras numeradas de 601 a 610, que la Compañía de los Ferrocarriles de Madrid a Zaragoza y a Alicante (MZA) encargó para los servicios de maniobras. Las locomotoras adquiridas para este fin fueron muy pocas, ya que lo habitual era reutilizar para maniobras aquellas locomotoras más antiguas y menos potentes que iban quedando obsoletas para los servicios regulares en la línea. Las locomotoras de esta serie fueron destinadas a los puertos del Mediterráneo. De fabricación belga, hasta 1966 se pudo ver a la locomotora 020-0231 trabajando en la playa de vías de la estación de Alicante." Museo del Ferrocarril. Madrid.

La línea Oñati-San Prudencio fue inaugurada el 30 de septiembre de 1923 por la Reina Victoria Eugenia, y clausurada como el resto, el 31 de diciembre de 1967. Unos años después, el 1973, el Ayuntamiento instaló una locomotora de tributo. En sus momentos de mayor esplendor el 'Vasco-Navarro' llegó a sumar 140 kilómetros de vía ferroviaria, desde Bergara hasta Estella, pasando por Vitoria.
Esta locomotora fue construida en Barcelona por LA MAQUINISTA TERRESTE MARITIMA con el Nº 97 el año 1921.
Not the prettiest skies today but still always a treat to watch some high-speed acrobatics by these F-16's. Vapor trails of condensed water can be seen as they form around the cockpit and wings when the aircraft is moving at a high speed. Cleveland National Airshow.
There's a lot of condensing going on at -20 as this pellet load behind an all-EMD set gets underway after a meet at Alborn. Exhaust vapor and steam from the pellets mingle into a giant cloud as the train starts to roll south.

Clepsydra plays nearly continuously to heights of 45 feet (14 m). It was named by T. B. Comstock during the 1878 Captain Jones expedition, with its nomenclature derived from the Greek word for water clock. Prior to the 1959 Hebgen Lake earthquake, it erupted regularly every three minutes.
