To fully enjoy the backcountry you need gear. The Husky’s practical CG (Center of Gravity) Envelope is designed to let you stow more and carry more - and do it safely.
That means a nicely equipped* airplane can carry up to 842 lbs, dramatically increasing the mission profile of the aircraft. Other manufacturers may claim high useful load numbers for their planes, but those numbers can be deceiving. The CG Envelope of other planes is significantly less than a Husky’s due to the design of the airframe itself. Husky stands alone in its class for its CG Envelope, performance and load carrying capabilities.
A Husky hauls more, but provides impressive fuel economy. You and your passenger, and all the gear you pack, can fly 800 miles without refueling. And, the stamina and brawn of a Husky means you won’t have to circle to get over that peak - you can just pull back and climb.
The Husky has a gross weight in excess of a REAL ton (2250 lbs.) ± 925lb Useful Load. *Standard features + right side landing light, rear seat and defrost kit, aft stowage, side baggage, bose and Garmin 530 = 1358 lbs empty.
This is a photograph from the 2nd Annual Rock 'n' Roll Dublin Half Marathon which was held in Dublin, Ireland on Monday 4th August 2014 at 08:30. The Rock 'n' Roll Dublin Half Marathon also incorporated the Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI) National Half Marathon Championships which was open to all eligible runners registered with an AAI affiliated athletics club. The race started in Dublin City center at North Wall Quay and Castleforbes Road on the Liffey. The route then went West out of the city bringing runners along the famous South Quays to Inchicore and then taking a slight northerly direction into the Phoenix Park. The race finished in the Phoenix Park with runners following over half of the course within the grounds of the famous park. Over 7,000 people took part. The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon series is one of the largest running series in the world with events primarily taking place in North American Cities. However, recently the franchise has spread to Europe. One of the unique aspects of the race is that every course features live bands along the course along with cheering teams of supporters at water stations. In the Phoenix Park today there was a large entertainment area at the Finish line for competitors, families and friends to enjoy.

We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs
We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?
The explaination is very simple.
Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.
ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.
Creative Commons aims to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/
I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.
I want to tell people about these great photographs!
Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets
It's the Holiday season, and for many of us, that means schlepping across the state, country, or planet to spend time with our loved ones. While Holiday Traffic is one thing, Holiday air travel is a whole different (expensive) affair, which often goes astray. Sometimes things happen - storms, acts of god, people not setting their alarm and starting a domino effect that sets the whole airline off by a few hours for part of the day - and we need to be prepared when these things happen, so here

This is one of the most useful modern soft focus lenses made for 35mm format, in my opinion. At 85mm, its ideal for both landscape and portraits and with the variable diffusion, the photographer has both a sharp and a soft lens at hand.
It is composed of six elements in five groups and is based on Japanese Patent granted in 1975, JP15454075A. Introduced in 1978, it had a short production life which ceased in 1993 or 1994. These lenses are somewhat rare and I have the impression they were primarily sold in the Japanese market. There must have been some sales directed elsewhere, however, as mine came with an English language instruction sheet. I am the second owner of this particular lens, wielding it since about 1986.
It will focus to 2.6 feet, has apertures from f/2.8 to f/16, essentially, all you would need under any circumstance except low light. It uses a 55mm filter and weighs just under a pound. Because the lens is both multi-coated and fairly deeply recessed, a hood is rarely required. The barrel length changes with the softness setting, shortest at the “3” setting
Although designed for 35mm format, it performs perfectly on the larger Fuji GFX format of 33 x 44mm as these images attest. A Fotodiox adapter mounted it to the GFX body.
Quoting from the manual: “… diffuses light passing through it by intentionally introducing a controlled amount of spherical aberration. This causes every point on the subject to be images as a sharp point surrounded by a diffuse halo.’ Any true soft focus lens operates on these basic principles, which cannot be duplicated by a filter which simply degrades the image.
A ring marked 0, 1, 2, 3, determines the degree of diffusion with “0” being none and “3” being the maximum. As the manual notes, “When the diaphragm is set for apertures of f/5.6 or smaller, the diffusion-causing spherical aberration will be eliminated regardless of the softness settings … ‘ As a result I did not test this lens past f/5.6 except for an example at f/16 and “0”.

With regards the wood cutting: for heating the school relied on wood procured on the spot - one of the boys' chores was to saw logs, both at Rannoch and Talladh-a-Bheith, using a Bushman bow saw or cross-cut and earning service points by splitting the big birch logs with axe or wedge. Injuries from this activity were surprisingly few. It would take four boys to cut each log. Each room had its own fireplace which in winter was kept burning all day - useful for toasting the square pieces of buttered bread supplied for tea. It was still cold though and sometimes there was ice on the floor of the Talladh-a-Bheith classrooms. One winter, it was so cold that the loch froze over completely and boys were able to skate over the loch. On occasions, Mrs Boyce on her skis was the only link between the lodges. Paraffin stoves were also used and the paraffin was kept in a drum in a shed behind Rannoch Lodge; a useful source which the boys used when they wanted to light fires up in the wood behind.
There is also a nice picture of the front of Rannoch Lodge, an imposing granite house in a commanding situation at the head of the Loch with magnificent views eastwards towards Schiehallion. Rannoch Lodge became the nucleus of the school, with its main reception rooms turned into classrooms.

This is not a E.C. Atkins saw! It is a shop assembled saw made from parts from two of the best saw makers in the world. The handle and nuts are from a E.C. Atkins no 65. I bought the handle without a saw plate and have spent a long time pondering what to do with it.
The matching saw plate was found in a Sandvik no 280 saw plate. The Sandvik had a broken plastic handle and the length and tooth configuration was the same old boring 23,5 inches filed crosscut at 6 PPI.
So I shortened the saw plate from the back and front, shaped it to fit the handle and shape edge at the heel in a way that is neither typical for Atkins or Sandvik. I wanted to make sure at least an expert could identify this saw plate as being the wrong one.
The original tooth configuration was ideal for this handle, if doubled. So the teeth were jointed to approximately half the height and then reconfigured to 10 TPI RIP.
I'm still a bit unsure if this saw will be useful as a fine toothed RIP saw, but time will tell.

Day 18 of my 365. My dad, who passed away almost 5 and 1/2 years ago from pancreatic cancer, always had coffee cans filled with every type of screw, bolt, nut, nail, etc that you could think of. If you needed it, chances are it was in a coffee can in my dad's garage. When I was at my mom's house I went into the garage and there they were, the coffee cans, just like I remembered them, still full of nuts, bolts, screws, nails, etc...

This sign is posted near a canal. I can only assume it used to read, "Stay out of canal," in English and Spanish.
This is from one of the first rolls of film I shot in college and it's still one of my favorite photographs.
Harper had gone out with my daddy this morning, I think she is trying to be useful, though I have a feeling there is a reason behind this and I am certain that she is not doing it in exchange for one of my dads good books he thinks she should read!
Anyway she picked lots of Holly to put round the picture frames.
I have missed this girl so much. My MSD girls are still at parents as so much stuff with moving. So miss them and can't wait until things are more settled
This is a used black wrist watch. Freestyle brand Shark; model 778. It has some scratches on the face, but is readable and has a working battery.
It has a night vision light so you can tell time in the dark, a stop watch, and day of the week feature. It claims to be waterproof to 300 feet. I have never tested this.
I wore it every day of the 2+ years I worked in the hospital, since you always have to know what time it is in that environment. And you have to time everything as well.
The little piece to hold the band flush to your wrist is missing, but I believe I can get that fixed for you before mailing it out.
This is a good first watch. Will fit small to medium wrists.
