It had rained the whole day like from tubs. Actually, I planned, the Neist Point, the small peninsula
to take photos on the Scottish island Skye in the southwest in the sundown. But the weather meant it differently.
When I wanted to make a few test shots Late afternoon, it heard to rain for one moment on and the sky opened
for a short time before the coast. From approx. 100 admissions, were at the end only useful.....
to be a useful, happy woman, and I don't think that is a bad ambition. Even if I only do what my dear mother did, earn my living honestly and happily, and leave a beautiful example behind me, to help one other woman as hers helps me, I shall be satisfied :)

Although today it rained wonderfully in Córdoba, I have chosen an archive photo. This way I don't get wet and I see that it is useful to save . I think it's a nice photo of The Shining City, the authentic title of these ruins so well reconstructed and valued and protected by UNESCO.

Rain of tender orange blossoms
that the wind in the patio drags
like guzla sobs
on the ground shelled
for thirst that springs flow 5
behind the white lattices
of faded loves
that gold dresses the sunset.
The whisper of the flowers
about silent songs 10
evokes pale notes
crystal of dead lutes
they are sighs of Azahara
that are falling in the patio
with its snow petals 15
fused on land and water.

Ein Kaffeelöffel und ein Winzling für Salz.
A teaspoon and a tiny (less than 1 cm) spoondwarf, useful for adding some salt for example.
15-february-2022: I can't get never enough of the SNOW, and even after a day entirely dedicated to photographing the phenomenon in progress, I still have the energy to take some shots on the tripod at nightfall near a tourist area where there are always artificial lights.
I don't like to take the lights directly intended as spotlights beams/light sources, as I avoid inserting the sun into a daytime or sunset shot, I prefer the play of lights in the atmosphere and in the glare of the snow on the ground, on the trees and on the reliefs in the vicinity.
After the precipitating core (in the afternoon, previous shots) I spent a good half hour photographing with the tripod under a constant wet sleet, annoying, but useful for creating a certain atmosphere.
This is the canal which links the Cagliari salt evaporation ponds (now dismissed) with the harbour. The salt collected in the ponds was loaded into barges and then a tug carried the train of barges to the harbour where the salt was unloaded to be shipped.
In ancient times the barges were pulled by horses.
This specie lives in most of continental Europe. It kills its prey with a poison that paralyze and dissolve their internal organs in a few seconds. It is a useful specie in the garden to fight other insects.

To do the useful thing, to say the courageous thing, to contemplate the beautiful thing: that is enough for one man's life.

Lately I found my mind wandering as we wind ourselves into the new year of 2023. I decided to do a more thoughtful pose to work with some PS tools I've neglected for far too long to get the hang of them. Maybe, hah. Working in extreme closeup made me appreciate the work put into the eyebrows and eyes by Landgraff (his Unholy eyes are really cool), the brows alone are nicely detailed down to the tiniest hair and added scar. I'm wearing Cubic Cherry's spectacles to add to the haughty look.

After the discussion in the group Saturday Self-Challenge I decided to photograph mine for the theme Old but still useful.
It's so old that all the paint has come off the handle. I must have bought this some time in the second half of the 1960s.

marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Skifija-Script-For-SL-Creato...
At the request of the creators SL,
I made a Demo object and an additional script that allows other users to create their own versions of the landscape elements for the "Auto Season 12 months" from Skifija and this will work with the Time Manager from Skifija.
Now you can make objects "12 months Auto Season" for personal use, gifts and sale!
You can use this script for whatever objects and actions you want, including sounds, animations, etc.
The package includes:
1. DEMO! Skifija 12Months Auto Seasson Grass (Receiver)
2. script:! Skifija 12Months Grass (Receiver) for Creators
3. script:! Skifija 12Monts (command receiver)
4. "! Skifija Time Manager Auto Season 12 Months Landscape v.0.3" - You don't Can Modify and No Transfer this,
Users get it when they buy one of the products "! Skifija 12Months Auto Seasson"
This point assumes that you know Linden's scripting language (LSL).
If you don't understand what this is about, don't use it.
useful links:
wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LSL_Portal
wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlSetLinkPrimitiveParams#llSetLi...
How it works?
The Time manager gives commands on an individual channel for each resident.
The object you created accepts commands using the "!Skifija 12Monts (command receiver)" script
and sends them to the "!Skifija 12Months Grass (Receiver) for Creators" script.
How can I help?
You can contact me with suggestions or questions (if it will be sent for goran Osterham to notecard).
Сondition:
You can transfer this script to the next owner with permission - NO modify, No Transfer or NO modify, No Copy.
Please note that all responsibility for the unscrupulous use of the script lies with you.

Taken at the Great Central Railway in Loughborough, found this old, though still useful shed - I liked the way the light fell on the doors.
Helenium is a genus of annuals and deciduous herbaceous perennials in the sunflower family native to the Americas.
They bear yellow or orange daisy-like composite flowers. A number of these species (particularly Helenium autumnale) have the common name sneezeweed, based on the former use of their dried leaves in making snuff. It was inhaled to cause sneezing that would supposedly rid the body of evil spirits. Larger species may grow up to 2 metres (6.6 ft) tall.
The genus is named for Helen of Troy, daughter of Zeus and Leda. Helenium species are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including Phymatopus behrensii.
Numerous cultivars have been developed for garden use - mainly from H. autumnale and H. bigelovii. They are useful for late summer and fall bloom, usually in less formal compositions. They are appropriate for native gardens in areas where they are indigenous, and they look wonderfully in bouquets. Annual species are easily grown from seed, and perennials should be divided every year in order to retain their vigor. The soil should be fertile with a generous amount of organic manner in the form of compost, manure or other decayed organic matter in addition to, perhaps, an application of a complete fertilizer in spring. Heleniums should be grown in full sun average to moist soil with good drainage. They are drought tolerant, but should be watered on planting and regularly until established. The following have gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit:-
'Baudirektor Linne'[10]
'Blütentisch'[11]
'Butterpat'[12]
'Feuersiegel'[13]
'Gartensonne'[14]
'Karneol'[15]
'Moerheim Beauty'[16]
'Ring of Fire'[17]
'Rubinzwerg'[18]
'Sahin's Early Flowerer'[19]
'Waltraut'[20]
'Wesergold'[21]
Helenium Hybrid has brilliant yellow petals surrounding spherical brown cones covered with golden pollen. It grows to 0.9 metres (3 ft) tall and takes up about 0.6 metres (2 ft) of space, the hardiness zone rating is 4-9. Its Flowers appear for six weeks from mid to late summer and attract butterflies in droves. It provides a splash of colour when many other perennials are starting to fade, it may accompany ornamental grasses, Phlox and Liatris.
The UK National Collection of Heleniums is located at Yew Tree House, Hall Lane, Hankelow near Audlem in Cheshire.

These heleniums were photographed at Pashley Manor Gardens. At Pashley you will discover 11 acres of beautiful borders and vistas – the culmination of a lifetime of passion for gardening, an appetite for beauty and an admiration of the tradition of the English Country garden. These graceful gardens, on the border of Sussex and Kent, are family owned and maintained – visitors often express delight at the attention to detail displayed throughout and the intimate, peaceful atmosphere.
All the ingredients of the English Country Garden are present – sweeping herbaceous borders, ha-ha, well maintained lawns, box hedges, espaliered rose walk, historic walled garden, inspiring kitchen garden, venerable trees and the Grade I listed house as a backdrop. The gardens are a haven for wildlife – bees, butterflies and small birds as well as moor hens, ducks and a black swan. Then, of course, the plants! Borders overflowing with perennials and annuals – the look changing through the seasons, but always abundantly filled, and each garden ‘room’ planted in a different colour theme.
Pashley is also renowned for fantastic displays of tulips, roses and dahlias. Our annual Tulip Festival features more than 48,000 tulips this year! During Special Rose Week over a hundred varieties of rose swathe the walls, climb obelisks and bloom in flower beds. Then in late summer our Dahlia Days event transforms the gardens once more with bountiful, brightly coloured dahlias in every border and pot.
Add to all this a Café and Terrace with excellent garden views, serving delicious homemade lunches, scones and cakes; Sculpture and Art Exhibitions; a Gift Shop with Plant Sales; and a friendly, knowledgeable team waiting to welcome you, and the recipe for a wonderful day out is complete.

The wide angle lens is probably the most often used, but also misused, lens in landscape photography. It is a powerful lens, as long as it is used with forethought and for the right scenes. In my article I share with you useful tips for composing powerful wide angle images and I hope it encourages you to go out there and capture the beauty! Please feel free to read the article at this link. I hope you enjoy!

A small copse of trees, such as this, provides useful habitats for, fox, badger, wood mouse and hedgehog, whilst it's rotting timber and vegetation provide home and sustenace for a myriad of insects. It's trees provide home and shelter for squirrel and birds, and it is often visited by foraging wild deer.
The importance of copses cannot be over-emphasised, particularly in a landscape of intense agricultural farming.

At first glance maybe an unusual spider? lol! This is a "bear claw," one of two that I use to retrieve a large, stuffed turkey from the oven twice a year. Yes, Thanksgiving and Christmas. ( I think it would make a great weapon, too if I encountered a burglar in my home)! Super sharp! Happy Crazy Tuesday everyone!

It is no coincidence that this incredibly beautiful, fragrant and useful plant is called a wild rose. A close relative of the most beautiful flower on earth, the rose hip also has thorns, but is also rich in vitamin C and other useful microelements.
The name “rose hips” is used for wild or unmodified rose species. In Russia today there are up to 100 species of rose hips, and not all of them are equally useful, so some of them are used for decorative purposes. Under natural conditions, wild roses grow on mountain slopes, in river valleys, and in fields there are several dozen varieties of the plant. Unpretentious and cold-resistant ornamental rose hips can often be seen as hedges in country houses. Certain types of wild rose are used to make jam, jam and candied fruits.
The healing properties of rose hips have been known since ancient times. Almost all parts of rose hips are used for medicinal and preventive purposes, but the fruits are considered the most useful. This is explained by the high content of vitamin C in them; its concentration here is higher than in black currants and lemon. Wild rose fruits also boast a variety of biologically active substances.
The most popular among medicinal types of rose hips is traditionally considered to be May rose hips. The fruits of needle, Dahur, Kokand, small-flowered rose hips and some other plant species are also used for medicinal purposes.
“Silence stands outside the world of profit and utility; it cannot be exploited for profit; you cannot get anything out of it. It is ‘unproductive’ Therefore it is regarded as valueless. Yet there is more help and healing in silence than in all the 'useful things.’ Purposeless, unexplainable silence suddenly appears at the side of the all-too-purposeful, and frightens us by its very purposelessness. It interferes with the regular flow of the purposeful. It strengthens the untouchable, it lessens the damage inflicted by exploitation. It makes things whole again, by taking them back from the world of dissipation into the world of wholeness. It gives something its own holy uselessness, for that is what silence itself is: holy uselessness.” (Max Picard)
A flower that can be found all over the East Bay, this Lobelia's flowers are just "made" for hummingbirds. I found this one in the yard of an estate abutting Congressional District 11, California (Walnut Creek, Mt. Diablo, Google Maps).
Lobelia laxiflora is a species of flowering plant in the family Campanulaceae. It is native to the Americas, where it is distributed in South, Central, and North America as far north as Arizona and California in the United States. It is known by several English-language common names, including Mexican lobelia, Sierra Madre lobelia, Mexican cardinalflower, looseflowers lobelia, and drooping lobelia.
In Mexico this plant grows in pine-oak forest habitat. In Arizona and California it has been noted in riparian woodland.
The hummingbird flower mite (Tropicoseius chiriquensis) lives in the flowers of this plant, feeding on the nectar and pollen and laying eggs. Each flower blooms for about a week, enough time for the mite to complete its life cycle.
Like other lobelias, this species contains medicinally useful alkaloids. Several new compounds have been discovered during chemical analyses of this plant.

Poon Hill is a foothill of Annapurna Massif at 3,210m. It is a famous viewpoint of Himalayas located on the border between Kaski and Myagdi districts. It is a less-than-one-hour walk from Ghorepani that is part of Annapurna Circuit.
The tower is useful if you want to take photos of Himalayas with people on the hilltop (^_^;) Otherwise, ground level view is sufficiently spectacular.
