Smile on Saturday and theme "anything with A"
This apple tree (Granny Smith) started to bloom again at the end of October, so at the same time we had both blossom and ripe fruits on the same tree. The weather conditions have become very capricious and unpredictable that even the plants have a hard time coping.

This is a Pine Sisken taking a short break from fighting with the other siskens. They are fiesty finches and very, very small birds who constantly eat. Siskens are unpredictable so you never know when they will arrive or when they will leave. Always, always, always wear a hat if you are near a group of Pine Siskens! ... )0:

This morning was all freshy green in the forest and the weather was so unpredictable, a bit rainy and a bit sunny, just perfect for taking pictures :)
Dracaena flowering can be unpredictable, especially for indoor plants. Mature Dracaenas may unexpectedly bloom after 5 to 10 years without flowering. The most common bloom times are late fall to early winter and late spring to early summer. While Dracaena fragrans isn’t always reliable in blooming, under the right growing conditions and when mature (over 5 years old), it can produce blooms one to three times per year.

Peggy's Point Lighthouse is one of Nova Scotia's most well-known lighthouses and may be the most photographed in Canada. Built in 1914, Peggy's Point Lighthouse keeps watch over surging ocean waves and working lobster boats. The day I visited tourists were crawling over the giant granite rocks worn smooth by the unpredictable surf.
The wild song in them soared to a crecendo. Some inner core, a central part of mine, tunes into this wildlife chorus.
The exhibition ICELAND: The Wild, Chaotic and Unpredictable shows the unique landscape and culture of Iceland through the eyes of the renowned artist Therese Eisenmann.
The museum's exhibitions, which range from traditional photography to experimental media art, are known for their boundary-pushing and innovative perspectives. The Francisco Carolinum stands out for its ability to address current developments in art forms and integrate them into a broader cultural and social context.

There seemed to be more Upland Sandpipers than usual this year during breeding season. Fluctuations is species numbers are unpredictable, and I never know from year to year who will be present and who will be missing. Its small head and long, thin neck are I.D. markers, although it seems that I stumbled on a neckless variety here (in reality it's just hunkering down - ready to fly if the rolling red Toyota blind should suddenly jump the ditch).
From Cornell Lab: "Upland Sandpiper’s association with native prairie is so strong that scientists consider it to be an 'indicator species,' along with Sprague’s Pipit and Baird’s Sparrow, that can indicate the quality of a habitat. Thus, the absence of these three birds in a patch of prairie would indicate to biologists that there is likely a problem with the habitat."
All three of the above species can be found in and near Grasslands National Park, although the Upland Sandpiper is by far the most common. This is a shorebird, but I've never seen it anywhere near a shore. A line of fence posts seems to be its preferred habitat.

Nuns Cross Farm Dartmoor, my first trip out to this part of Dartmoor and I was hoping for a nice sunset but on arrival a threatening sky almost engulfed the setting sun, typical of Dartmoor and its unpredictable weather, added a bit of drama though! :)

Although the timing is unpredictable, it's a good bet that the Whooping Cranes congregating in the field on the south side of 8th Street in Lamar, Texas, are going to cross back to the north at some point before sunset. Their exact path is unpredictable as well but if you pick a good spot, occasionally it is right overhead.

The hippopotamus is a highly aggressive and unpredictable animal and is ranked among the most dangerous animals in Africa. They are threatened by habitat loss and poaching for their meat and ivory canine teeth and almost all are now only found in reserves.
Their name comes from Ancient Greek and means 'river horse'. They can run short distances at some 18 mph. Surprisingly, their closest living relatives are whales, dolphins and porpoises.
Their status is classified as vulnerable.
I used FC Polychromos pencils and 'Zest It' liquid blender and completed it in an evening. I couldn't resist adding some extra colour as it arose from the river in the moonlight!
Felicity is an unpredictable thing, which I suppose is why we have serendipity. When I came to reviewing and editing, the photograph in mind just wasn't there - it was a job for a 50mm lens on film, not an iPhone; however, the red light (trust me, it was red) of the pedestrian crossing draws the eye to the reflected layers of surroundings and suggests an almost pleasing allegory for a different kind of pausing. I still fear this one may be a little too quotidian to share, however.

Monte Fitz Roy or Cerro Chalten, is a mountain range in southern Patagonia. It sits between the border of Argentina and Chile. The closest town is El Chalten which makes it easy to do day trips on the hiking trails around the park. The weather, however, is extremely unpredictable. With the beautiful turquoise glacier lakes and sharp mountains rising to the sky, it's one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world.

The weather has been rather unpredictable this past week. We went from freezing temps (a record low) and squalls to plus temps( a record high) and rain that got rid of a lot of the snow that was beginning to pile high on our streets. We saw patches of grass showing on our lawn until today when flash freezing and then more snow prevailed. I do love the fresh snow when it comes in small doses.
Our bond is wind and flight, unpredictable and intense.

Haven't I told before that Dutch summers are as unpredictable as anything ? This day was another fine example of it, albeit not for the birds.
In a shady spot in our backyard, I heard a rapid breathing with a somewhat hoarse and pulsating sound. I discovered this house sparrow that was visibly struggling with this - also for us Dutch - tropical temperature of 35 degrees celsius.
Fortunately the sparrow survived although I had my doubts about it, but all's well that ends well!
Pictures made with PENTAX K-1 Mark II / 150-450 mm( in crop mode 600 mm ) / F7.1 / 1/500 and ISO 1000.
No time to brake, the slope’s steep and adrenaline’s high. I pull off a jump even gravity didn’t see coming, riding my trusty pink scooter. The pizzas wobble, but the smile stays. Fun, unpredictable, a little crazy, but nothing stops Pizza Bad. Here, speed is an art, and every delivery an adventure. ️🔥😜

Rain could be unpredictable here...one minute it was sunny, the next few minutes it would be raining, as in this instance. The rain came just 15 minutes later.

You cannot domesticate buffaloes. So even if these buffs get a food supplement during the dry season, they remain as wild as their ancestors. Very short tempered and unpredictable.
