Sometimes, Autumn weather changes really unpredictable and we can feel the four seasons in just 1 day. That's fantastic weather coming to me now! ❄️☀️
The photo was taken during a Germany group tour, Sep 2018

An incredibly challenging bird to shoot in flight due to the highly unpredictable flight pattern, managed to get a decent shot on this day. I don't enjoy shooting these birds since success rates are incredibly low and they are very hard on the arms.
The Swifts are an extraordinary species of birds pushing the limits of what we know of birds. Some of the swift species are known to fly for their life-time (4-6 years) barely touching ground.
Shot this from a bridge over a very large lake. 100's Swallows and Swifts nest under this bridge. They gather mud and other nesting materials from the banks and then create their nests on the underside of the bridge. Shot this Swift during one such trip - it was carrying a feather. Sighted few other swifts carrying feathers to their nests.
These are resident birds (see them outside my apartment much of the year) and feed on small insects that they catch while flying.
Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
A silent witness to shifting clouds and ancient ridges—where green, snow, and sky meet without boundaries.
I took this photo while wrestling with a heavy burden. Nature didn’t fix it, but it helped me breathe.
Life can be hard sometimes, unpredictable and heavy. But we must remember, there are times we need to be like the mountains: silent, steady, and unshaken, even when clouds pass through us.
“Life is unpredictable,
It changes with the seasons,
Even your coldest winter,
Happens for better reasons,
And though it feels eternal,
Like all you’ll ever do is freeze,
I promise spring is coming,
And with it, brand new leaves.”

The weather was rather unpredictable today and it was low tide on the beach. These Royal Terns were on a sandbar.
I've been crazy busy these past few months with work, my kids' sports activities, and dealing with the unpredictable load shedding. But hey, I managed to squeeze in some time for myself and capture some awesome moments during my December/January holiday. So, here are a bunch of photos for you to enjoy!
On the photography front, I've been focusing on capturing shots of my two daughters' netball and chess teams. It's been quite an adventure, and some of those photos even made their way onto the schools' Facebook pages. It's great to know that my photography skills are getting some recognition too!
Hope you like the photos and feel the energy and excitement that I experienced while capturing those special moments.
It was challenging to capture this unpredictable and fast species. It looks like a Wilson's Warbler.

"Seeing a flock of starlings fly together [is] like watching a shape-shifting cloud, a single being moving and twisting in unpredictable formations in the sky. But what you are really seeing is thousands, sometimes millions of individual birds. As starlings gather in the evenings to roost, often they will participate in what is called a murmuration — a huge flock that shape-shifts in the sky as if it were one swirling liquid mass. Often the behavior is sparked by the presence of a predator like a hawk or peregrine falcon, and the flock's movement is based on evasive maneuvers. There is safety in numbers, so the individual starlings do not scatter but rather are able to move as an intelligent cloud, feinting away from a diving raptor, thousands of birds changing direction almost simultaneously. The question that has had scientists stumped is how each bird, most of them tens or hundreds of birds away from the danger, senses the shift and moves in unison? The secret lies in the same systems that apply to anything on the cusp of a shift, like snow before an avalanche, where the velocity of one bird affects the velocity of the rest. It's called "scale-free correlation," and every shift of the murmuration is called a critical transition. Because the size of the flock doesn't matter, a huge flock is able to respond to a predator attack as effectively and fluidly as a small flock. No matter the size, the system works. If one bird changes speed or direction, so do the others. The question remains, however, how does an individual bird spark a change if all are busy responding to the movement of everyone else? And more importantly, how do they do it so incredibly quickly?" A research "...team discovered that one bird's movement only affects its seven closest neighbors. Each of those neighbors' movements affect their closest seven neighbors and so on through the flock. This is how a flock is able to look like a twisting, morphing cloud with some parts moving in one direction and at another speed. Why seven? It's one of those numbers that just works in nature, and a systems-theoretic approach to studying starling flocks showed it. 'Interacting with six or seven neighbors optimizes the balance between group cohesiveness and individual effort,' write the researchers in the study." Source: mnn.com>earth matter>animals. I could be anywhere
In any time or space
But I am here at La Fourmi in Paris
It’s the beginning of the world
A world of limbs flailing
With a meaning behind a coordinated repetition
How strange it is to exist in a world of noise
One side celebrating
Another in anguish
I’m happy to be here
But it’s a little like being at a concert
When I don’t know any of the words
To my favorite songs
Strange, as the young humans climbed
On top of wooden tables
Lit up like fire chanting
“Champions du Monde”
And in my inebriated state
Joyful for little reason
I heard “Champignons du Monde!”
I pictured us all as little mushrooms of smoke and flames
And ants growing and running across
The forests of the world.
You can clap and stomp
Across dead trees cheering for bodies and scores
But you’ll still be a tiny thing in a vast world
Growing only a little stronger and larger each day.
Don’t be melancholy about the futility of existence
Maybe someday we’ll all be particles of collective consciousness
Crashing into each other in the ether
Still stumbling with remembrances of our silly ever aging bodies
But being champions of our brave new world.

Same title, same kind of car, same location, same day of the week and similar shot as one from 2012. Oh, car week. Predictable yet unpredictable.
If you ever see a grizzly up close, you will be amazed by their sheer size and power. Although grizzly bears may appear to look "cute and cuddly" they are unpredictable animals with incredible territorial instincts if provoked or encountered too closely.

Skiddaw Shepherds Monument.
Having woken up in a very foggy Buttermere we decided to head up honister pass to see if we could get above the fog, but with the fog being so deep and unpredictable we headed over to Skiddaw in case we needed to get more height, which was the case as the fog rolled in moments after this shot, which covered all but the highest mountains in the area.

The Cape Buffalo is one of the most dangerous animals to be encountered on the savanna due to their erratic and unpredictable behaviour, or as our driver put it, 'They are crazy'. They are reputed to kill as many people as hippos or crocodiles. Weighing in at about 3/4 tonne and 1.7m/5.5ft high at the shoulder, these are large beasts.
Due to their unpredictable temperament, this species has never been domesticated, so wild they remain.

While waiting for a moonrise which never really materialized I was able to witness incredible light over Vista House and the Columbia River Gorge just before sunset.

A macro view of four square beads and their distorted reflection in a convex reflective surface, taken for the Macro Mondays group theme, "Reflection." The frame represents a span of 1¼ - inches across.
Strobist/technical info:
The scene is a 9-image focus stack composite. It was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights CL/CR, fired in Manual mode @ 1⁄64 -0.7EV power through Neewer 24" soft boxes.
A steady green LED was shown from 9-o'clock onto the background to create the green tones. The LED was diluted in the background by the flash, but not its reflection.
The SB900s were triggered by PocketWizard Plus X flash triggers.

An early morning wander up the glen with the dogs. Completely drenched with the rain on the way out and, on the way back was a blow-dry... A typical highland day with unpredictable weather, but an enjoyable couple of hours.
My walk was through Freshfield Nature Reserve, Merseyside, a few days before. This was my view from the picnic blanket on a cloudy day. The weather has been very unpredictable here so far.
Tough choices today? November weather is completely unpredictable and todays outing was a hard miss! Cloudy but still plenty warm. On the other hand it was good to be out and at least have couple of laughs. This is an image from a few months back from another morning spent with a friend. What do you think?
Life is unpredictable: you never know who is still going to be a part of it a year from now, or how many new people will! Sometimes you feel lonely, and the next day, you realize you are the richest person in the world, because you are surrounded by wonderful people!
RJ Cormans RJCP-01 job takes a loaded NS grain train (54K) North out of Cresson bound for Clearfield. This was a very sporadic decision but one I'm very happy about, as RJC has about the most unpredictable schedule out there.
Heading out on a bleak overcast, I expected nothing. Then as the day was ending, it transformed into this masterpiece. Unpredictable creation!
Last October we did a 2000 miles roadtrip from California to Utah and back: destination badlands near Hanksville. We stayed overnight at the Moonscape Overlook. At night it was raining, at times quite heavily. Next morning we were greeted with these angry clouds and muddy moonscape.

I'm so unpredictable, just like you used to be ..
So unemotional !
Boy I can forget the way you were with me
I don’t know what to tell you now ..
It's always harder ,,, the second time around.

Swallows are so small, so fast and have such an unpredictable flight path as they pursue insects, I am really happy with this shot . Montrose Harbor 04/18/15.
These images capture the mesmerizing beauty of water drop collisions, achieved using a Pluto Trigger and Pluto Valve for precise timing. The top layer consists of milk, while the base is water infused with red food coloring. The contrast creates a stunning visual interplay of fluid motion, forming delicate structures that last for just a fleeting moment.
Each droplet descends in milliseconds, rebounding into an intricate dance as the next drop collides. The swirling milk and red water create otherworldly forms—some resembling volcanic eruptions, others evoking the sense of a rising phoenix. The physics behind each shot is as captivating as the aesthetic result.
By fine-tuning the drop size, delay, and flash timing, each frame becomes a unique, unrepeatable composition. A perfect example of the unpredictable nature of fluid dynamics, frozen in time.
Today the rain has been on and off which makes the weather unpredictable. Fortunately to see cloud with some color during sunset.

Lyra .. a spaniel ... needless to say Auntie Elk has gone off to a quiet corner in the hope that she wouldn't be discovered!! (spaniels ... far too unpredictable)
Early March in Michigan often presents unpredictable weather conditions, sometimes moderate, sometimes windy, and sometimes cold and icy.
But Michigan experiences the full range of the four seasons, a beauty I love to experience.

Returning early to over winter in South Africa must seem pretty appealing to this little Swallow given our unpredictable Summer!!!
Faith is not settled belief but living process. It is the very edge and opening of life in process. To live is to step with trust into the next moment: into the unpredictable.

A bee collects as much pollen as it possibly can while the flowers are open. No guarantee around here as the weather is so unpredictable
A beautiful bird that barely rests. It is long and slender and has a very unpredictable flight path. Often a favorite of local photographers, but hard to get a decent shot. On a hot day, we found more than a dozen sitting on a large tree quite high from the ground. Found 1-2 with a good angle to shoot, like this one.
Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
Another from a recent trip to the Outer Hebrides.
I was fortunate enough to take a day trip to St Kilda which involves a lengthy sailing on what are typically rough unpredictable seas. It was challenging to say the least.
This picture, although not St Kilda, is from that day trip. It shows the foreboding, intimidating sea cliffs of the small uninhabited island of Boreray which sits about 4 miles north west of Hirta, the main island of the St Kilda archipelago.
It was a superb experience of a lifetime, even more so with the conditions I was fortunate enough to get throughout the day with beautiful swirling mists flowing between the ragged cliffs.
For anyone wondering there's nothing added or taken away, no deception. This picture is processed from one raw file only.
I've produced a small set of Boreray pictures similar to this which can be viewed here on Facebook. See link below.
