Zebras run in a zig-zag pattern when being chased by a predator to make it more difficult for the predator to run after them. The pattern of a zebras stripes are different for each individual zebra, making them each as unique snowflakes!

The district road R2 from Langenerling to Moosham was upgraded at the end of the 1990s. At that time, the district of Regensburg purchased a 10 m wide strip. This was unique at the time and allowed a row of trees to be planted in the area, which was poor in trees. Thus, a total of 96 winter lime trees were planted on the approx. 2 km long section. This row of lime trees can be seen from far away.

Dies war damals einzigartig und erlaubte, in der baumarmen Flur eine Baumreihe zu setzen. So wurden auf dem ca. 2 km langen Streckenabschnitt insgesamt 96 Winterlinden gepflanzt. Diese Lindenreihe ist schon von weitem zu sehen.

Unique, mystic topography and sacred to the aborigines. is a large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of the Northern Territory in central Australia. It lies 335 km south west of the nearest large town, Alice Springs. Uluru is sacred to the Pitjantjatjara Anangu, the Aboriginal people of the area. The area around the formation is home to an abundance of springs, waterholes, rock caves and ancient paintings. Uluru is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Uluru and Kata Tjuta, also known as the Olgas, are the two major features of the Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park. 15453

Some believe such ancient sites were connected and placed on lines of spiritual power, ley lines, maybe that's what's in the sky? Or not :) Certainly a sacred place with a unique atmosphere.

The unique church of St. Nicholas in Horodysh was the oldest church building in Menshchyna. In 2016, the church was moved to the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life in Pirogov.
St. Nicholas Church was built in Horodysh in 1763, it consisted of a four-sided nave, an eight-sided hall and a six-sided altar. By the way, the structure was built without a single nail.
In 2016, the church was dismantled and moved to Pirogov. Only the foundation remained in Horodysh.
In the restored church, the walls are the same as in Horodyshche, and the outside is decorated with modern materials.
Унікальний храм Святого Миколая в Городищі, був найстарішою церковною спорудою на Менщині. У 2016 році церкву перевезли до Національного музею народної архітектури та побуту, що в Пирогові.
Свято-Миколаївська церква зведена в Городищі 1763 року, складалася з чотиригранного бабинця, восьмигранної зали і шестигранного вівтаря. До речі, споруду побудовали без жодного цвяха.
2016 року храм розібрали і перевезли до Пирогова. У Городищі залишився тільки фундамент.
У відреставрованої церкви стіни стоять ті, що й в Городищі, а ззовні оздобили сучасними матеріалами.

Unique experiences in amazing places .... it's been a while. I took this shot on Sydney Harbour. Four shots today with a common theme: boats on Sydney Harbour.
Weather, Geology, and Nature paint a unique scene.
A Green Heron puts a bit of an effort in to finding its next meal.
So actually two bonuses - I was photographing the dead trees along the Creek - then a Green Heron pops in - bonus - then it stretches its neck - 2nd bonus!!
Some of the causes of the death of the trees along this section of the Creek include:
Record-Breaking Droughts: The area has faced prolonged, multi-month droughts that left sections of the creek near the outpost bone-dry for long stretches. This severely starves the cypress root systems of the consistent moisture they require to keep their canopy alive. NOTE - the droughts have been going on most every year not just this year - these trees have been dead for years that I know about.
Violent Water Fluctuations: When rains do return, the water levels bounce erratically. The creek can swing from completely dry to swelling up over seven feet deep within days. This sudden, extreme shift from drought to deep, stagnant flooding suffocates the stressed tree roots.
New Cowbone Marsh Channeling: Changes and new channels cut through the nearby Cowbone Marsh have altered how water drains away from the Palmdale section. This causes the creek's water to drop much faster than it historically did, exposing the trees to rapid hydration shock.
The least colorful part of this colorful plant is what caught my attention -- a single white flower.

A common garden bird throughout much of Asia, found in open forests, fields, and parks; introduced to several regions around the world. Often tame and approachable. Brown overall with a rosy breast and a unique white-spotted black nape patch. Plumage shows slight regional variation: western birds have dark centers to wing feathers, lacking in eastern birds. Turtle-doves are larger, have black centers to wing feathers and stripes rather than spots on the neck. Coos loudly and often: “coo-a-roooo”. (eBird)

A familiar bird to us but welcome nevertheless. We saw or heard this pretty dove most days during our time in Singapore, usually deep in the trees or on the ground.

Position: The unique 12th-century Rocca Scaligero Castle was built on the remains of ancient Roman fortress and is an unmissable landmark of the spa resort of Sirmione on the Lago di Garda. The whole fortress is surrounded by water, which in ancient times was crucial in defending the city. It is connected to the mainland by a drawbridge. The fortress also included a fortified port. Sirmione is a comune and town located in the province of Brescia in the region of Lombardy, Italy.
The tongue on this Warbler is quite unique among warblers. It is curled and semi-tubular, and is used to collect nectar during the winter.
