In fact, wind chills are forecast for -37F /-38C. I've never understood why these two measurements ultimately even out, but a bit chilly by any calculation.

What is understood to possibly be the most photographed pub in Britain, the Stunning Thatched pub is in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight.

Standing in the centre of the old village of Shanklin and getting its name from its association with the local fisherman, the Crab is said to have been used by King Charles I when he was interned at Carisbrooke. It is a charming sixteenth century building with a thatched roof - everything a country inn should be. Data obtained online

Niani told me on more than one occasion that she thought I should take more "cowboy" pictures. I always thought she just wanted to make sure I had clothes on in my pictures, even though she insisted that I captured westerns well. hahaha

She certainly was one who understood that a woman did not have to be naked to literally burst out of a picture with feminine beauty.

Hunting for fall colors for the past several weeks, flight travel to Rocky Mountains was cancelled due to COVID, driving to remote rural area (the places where could be reached by car, no quarantine requirement...) for over 10,000km within three weeks, but in two trips... Truly remote, no COVID, few people, driving couple of hundred kilometers without seeing any villages... From Google offline map (no cell signal), showing unorganized area... The scenery was not as famous as Rocky Mountains, but people are nice (if meeting anyone in distance), scenery is rural and untouched nature... Most places I might visit once in life... I shared some of them, not so welcomed like Rocky Mountains, I understood, I already tried my best ;)) I may hold my fresh photos for a while... I have to dig out my fall capture of Rocky Mountains from last year, to post in-between... ;)) The big benefit of these two trips is not just photography itself, it is kind of changing environment mentally and physically and back to work at hospital as healthcare worker healthily ;))

I bougth a Rodenstock Depth of field calculator for my work with the graflex cams. I found out that this slide rule is also suitable for the Mamiya, since it also has a bellows focuser. Familiarizing yourself with this device was a bit cumbersome - but in the end I understood how it works. So here is the first photo, with an exactly set depth of field... somehow realy cool! :))

UPDATE: My dear friend Anja (blondepowers) identified this blossom. It is a Magnolia Stellata , also known as a Star Magnolia. Also, the flower that I uploaded yesterday for Eva was not a tulip... it was an Anemone . I'm such a dork. I buy bulbs all the time and forget what I planted. Hahaha. Thank you Anja for identifying my flowers!

Well, well, well, I have to shake my head and say that I fully understood that these guys eclose (hatch) on their own time.

Only about half of the ones I raised earlier in the season have eclosed and the rest are just hanging out taking up space.

Still, I am glad to have given them a bit of a boost for the summer. I just hope the ones that are hanging out leave before next spring.

This area is really neglected, with the factory walls covered in graffiti and Buddleia left growing from the most unlikely places in amongst the brickwork. In time it'll break it apart as it grows.

But I love it and recently I took a walk with my partners' two Retrievers through town and several of the outlying villages. It was just the kind of day to keep on walking, so we did and what great company they were!

Oski, the older of the two stopped about 15 times on the way back, refusing to move, but later on I encouraged him to only take short breathers before walking on and it was as though he heard and understood me!

When we got home I traced our route on Google maps and found that we'd walked for 12 miles.
