Vivica awoke to snuffles right by her ear... her heart stopped for a moment as her mind struggled to understand the velvety muzzle of Chocolate Moose sniffling around her. But she realised with relief that he must have made the scary noises she’d heard!

Just as she relaxed... they both jumped as the doors rattled loudly and there was an awful scream outside :o

I understand now, the legend of the succubus

And from whence it came

Being broken hearted, alone, and jaded

Can make a night stalking lunatic, of any dame

My heart has been stolen,

I'll never be the same

So now I wander the night,

With the "succubus" name

I'll slip into your dreams,

Make any man my prey

A female demon of the night,

Its the truth, what they say

A nocturnal dream,

I'll dance in your head

And when the sun shines,

I'll hide under your bed

I cannot love you,

As I have no heart

My heart was broken,

So now I roam the dark

We succubi, hide in the shadows,

Watching our game

We are all heartless creatures,

We feel no shame

Yes, I understand now the legend of the succubus,

And from whence it came

As my heart is gone

Now "succubus" is my name

Before knowing the weather condition of the Himalayan region we should understand its geography. The Himalayan region covers an area of 2,250 km with an average width of 200 km.

The forest belt of the Himalayan region consists of Oak, Rhododendron, Birch, Pine, Deodar, and Fir. And the monsoon season in this region lasts for mid June till the end of September. The Himalayas influences the meteorological conditions in the Indian subcontinent to the south and in the Central Asian highlands to the north to a great extent. It acts a climatic divider circulating the air and water system to a great extent. Because of its altitude and location it blocks the passage of the cold winds coming from the north to the Indian sub continent thereby making India's climate much more moderate. It also influences the rainfall pattern in India. The combined effect of rainfall, latitude and altitude largely influences the forests belts in the Himalayan region. The rainfall is mostly recorded during the monsoon time of June to September but it decreases as you travel from east to west. The snow-capped ranges of the Himalayas stretch 2, 250 km from the Namcha Barwa to Nanga Parbat on the Indus. The range extends from east to west up to central-Nepal and then takes a southeast to northwest direction.

You will understand why when you know my story : I am a Yellow Butterfly of the genus Eurema.

I thought I bore the same name as one of my cousins, who visited this garden a few days ago, called Small Grass-Yellow (Eurema smilax) but I am now told that my name is NO-BRAND Grass-Yellow (Eurema brigitta) ! Can you imagine that, being called NO-BRAND, like any common grocery item in a supermarket ??

Words like violence

Break the silence

Come crashing in

Into my little world

Painful to me

Pierce right through me

Can't you understand?

Oh, my little girl

All I ever wanted

All I ever needed

Is here in my arms

Words are very unnecessary

They can only do harm

Vows are spoken

To be broken

Feelings are intense

Words are trivial

Pleasures remain

So does the pain

Words are meaningless

And forgettable

All I ever wanted

All I ever needed

Is here in my arms

Words are very unnecessary

They can only do harm

All I ever wanted

All I ever needed

Is here in my arms

Words are very unnecessary

They can only do harm

All I ever wanted

All I ever needed

Is here in my arms

Words are very unnecessary

They can only do harm

Everything about our walks have changed since Squirty has passed. The biggest being Charlie seems lonely now. The T boys just don't understand the concept of walking and I find it is sometimes easier to leave them at home. Saying that though I also think Charlie is happy to reach the destination now and sit and watch them them at times.

The dragonfly

It's easy to be fascinated by dragonflies. They were among the very first winged insects to evolve over 300 million years ago! Dragonflies belong to the order Odonata, characterized by large multifaceted eyes, two pairs of strong, transparent wings, and an elongated body. Dragonflies are similar to damselflies, but adults hold their wings away from, and perpendicular to the body when at rest. Their two sets of wings work independently, allowing dragonflies to maneuver through the air effortlessly. Their huge eyes give them incredible vision in almost every directions except directly behind them.

Many people ask, "What do dragonflies eat?" As adults, dragonflies eat other insects and can consume hundreds of mosquitoes in one day! typically eat mosquitoes and other small insects. They are valued as predators, since they help control populations of harmful insects. Dragonflies are usually found around lakes, ponds, streams and wetlands because their larvae, known as "nymphs", are aquatic. Adult dragonflies do not bite or sting humans, though nymphs are capable of delivering a painful but harmless bite.

"(Well, this type of photography was never my point of interest but it certainly is interesting, when you try to see everything that happens around you.

Here I will leave you in some photos of these experiments, I hope you like it.)" ☺

Until we understand what the land is, we are at odds with everything we touch. And to come to that understanding it is necessary, even now, to leave the regions of our conquest - the cleared fields, the towns and cities, the highways - and re-enter the woods. For only there can a man encounter the silence and the darkness of his own absence. Only in this silence and darkness can he recover the sense of the world's longevity, of its ability to thrive without him, of his inferiority to it and his dependence on it. Perhaps then, having heard that silence and seen that darkness, he will grow humble before the place and begin to take it in - to learn from it what it is. As its sounds come into his hearing, and its lights and colors come into his vision, and its odors come into his nostrils, then he may come into its presence as he never has before, and he will arrive in his place and will want to remain. His life will grow out of the ground like the other lives of the place, and take its place among them. He will be with them - neither ignorant of them, nor indifferent to them, nor against them - and so at last he will grow to be native-born. That is, he must reenter the silence and the darkness, and be born again.

Sun is shining, the weather is sweet, yeah

Make you wanna move your dancing feet now

To the rescue, here I am

Want you to know, y'all, can you understand?

When the mornin´ gather the rainbow, yeah, yeah

Want you to know, I'm a rainbow too now

To the rescue, here I am

Want you to know, y'all, can you, can you, can you understand?

Sun is shining, the weather is sweet now

Make you wanna move your dancing feet, yeah

But to the rescue, here I am

Want you to know just if you can,

here I stand, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

Can you understand me now, baby?

Do you believe me?

In the night of March 27th, an announcement was made by the Shanghai government to close Pudong and Puxi in succession.

At midnight that night, Pudong went into lockdown first. On the following day, the residents in Puxi rushed to buy vegetables, meat and fish, and food prices soared.

However, this marketplace was ordered to suspend its business to be disinfected and sterilised. Large quantities of vegetables had to be piled up on the streets and could not be brought into the marketplaces. It was almost like a war was coming. Residents who came to buy vegetables had to seek other places or wait until this marketplace reopened.

The rage is unnerving. It is, however, understandable. As vicious seizures take over his fragile mind, making sense of it is difficult. No, making sense of it is impossible. He looks at me but cannot see through the bloodied tears running down his face. His involuntary movements and shaking which the seizure causes have caught his own face. Fingernails cutting into his skin. I could not get to cradle and protect him in time to prevent the harm he had caused himself. I reach him and hold him tight. He is shaking violently. He is crying out in pain and distress and is both deafening and frightening. He struggles with cognitive overloading as he recovers, trying to make sense of it. The unspoken question, why? is in those bloodshot eyes. I have no answer, I just hold him. He manages to say 'Help me'.

These attacks are getting worse. I have managed to arrange a neurologist appointment, still a few days away, but hopefully, if the country's industrial action does not stop the consultation, I will have an opportunity to talk through Marc’s decline. I know deep down that there are no answers. Only prayers and the loving support we give as long as we need to.

I understand that when you buy photographic products like dry plate

tintypes you're basically a beta tester. Whenever anyone makes anything at home, you're sort of along with them on their journey as you use their products.

But oh I have some bad luck with this stuff. I've seen others take magical photos using both glass dry plates and dry plate tintypes. I've seen beautiful ambrotypes too. There's a good reason why this tintype was scanned in black & white.

I've not really documented my "struggles" with it, but there have been quite a few bad plates.

I'm good at following directions for exposure, good at calculating light and even good at figuring out the UV factor. Hell, I do a podcast about developing (which doesn't mean I'm necessarily good at developing, but I'm no spring chicken).

What I'm not good at however - and this is crucial to photography with dry plates - is photography with dry plates.

Sure, I might get the occasional, oddball goodish plate (pictured above), but most are simply bad.

And I'm okay with that. I'm not whining at Zebra or J. Lane over some defective this or that. Partially it's because I'm well aware that there are going to be defects here and there. They're literally doing it out of their homes. And partially (mostly) because I know that any number of things can go wrong on my part - especially in how and where I photograph and develop.

After this box of tin is finished, I'll probably not explore it too much further until I have a better darkroom set up (which is sort of in the works in a way that's almost totally out of my control).

Maybe I'll get better - I'm sure I'll have some great shots here and there. But I'll probably just stick to x-ray film for my orthochromatic needs.
