An understanding of the natural world and what’s in it is a source of not only a great curiosity but great fulfillment.

So you can better understand what you see here: The stem of the longest specimen of this group of trumpet-like structures is about 1.5 cm long. I found them in the forest on a moss-covered tree trunk.

But what is this? Are these aliens about to take over the world? Or are they the musical instruments the forest uses to produce its characteristic wind sounds?

The world beyond our own "normal" perspective holds many surprises. Things so small that you only see them if you actively look for them, and which then leave us amazed.

This, by the way, which is a completely terrestrial pebbled pixie-cup, is one of them.

Damit Ihr das, was Ihr hier seht besser einordnen könnt.

In seinem Entwurf verfolgt J.J.P.

The Dutch architect Jacobus Johannes Pieter Oud was one of the group of selected architects who were asked to design buildings for the Weissenhofsiedlung. Initially, J.J.P. Oud received two separate commissions, which included the construction of a detached villa and four terraced houses for workers. After his intervention, he was allowed to build 5 terraced houses instead. In his design, J.J.P. Oud persued the goal of designing a small apartment as a synthesis of new materials, construction methods and shapes. The design was based on the principles of simplicity, efficiency and functionality. The design for the Weissenhofsiedlung was intended as a typology for repeated use. Especially since only one row was built in the Weissenhofsiedlung, the concept of J.J.P. Oud only partially understandable. In his mind the rows would have been repeated so that the gardens of one row would meet the kitchen courtyard of the next row.

The five row houses were built in reinforced concrete according to the Kossel system. The Kossel system was new in the 1920s and allowed a monolithic construction. The range of materials is expanded to include metal for window and door frames, ruberiod for the flat roof and plywood for the doors.

Thanks for viewing, commenting on and your Faves, I greatly appreciate them!!

let go of me, my friend, you do not understand; i lay here in your hands, you see now how it ends.

not true. no place can contain me without you. i’ll build you up like pinocchio was made. nobody will know anything, i’ll call your name with that air like we’ve just seen each other and soon we’ll meet again. one eventless day i’ll show up on your doorsteps out of the blue to tell you that everything’s ok; i’ve bought flight tickets, train tickets, ship tickets and we can travel beyond the end of the world. me and you.

What are you doing when i miss you, darling? i feel like dying, i won’t make it not even one more day if i can’t pick you up from the impossible i’m afraid one night you’ll leave, when this will happen i swear on you and the entire water that keeps my boat inclined toward old feels that you’ll remain beyond the shapes and numbers, mine for ever like a shoulder to an arm. What are you doing when i miss you, darling? My eyes are full of tears to my heels.

Here’s “Forget her”:

youtu.be/HO0svGjVEP8

While this town is busy sleeping,

All the noise has died away.

I walk the streets to stop my weeping,

'Cause she'll never change her ways.

Don't fool yourself,

She was heartache from the moment that you met her.

My heart feels so still

As I try to find the will to forget her, somehow.

Oh I think I've forgotten her now.

Her love is a rose, pale and dying.

Dropping her petals in land unknown

All full of wine, the world before her,

Was sober with no place to go.

Don't fool yourself,

She was heartache from the moment that you met her.

My heart is frozen still

As I try to find the will to forget her, somehow.

She's somewhere out there now.

Well my tears falling down as I try to forget,

Her love was a joke from the day that we met.

All of the words, all of her men,

All of my pain when I think back to when.

Remember her hair as it shone in the sun,

The smell of the bed when I knew what she'd done.

Tell yourself over and over

You won't ever need her again.

But don't fool yourself,

She was heartache from the moment that you met her.

My heart is frozen still

As I try to find the will to forget her, somehow.

She's out there somewhere now.

Oh she was heartache from the day that I first met her.

My heart is frozen still

As I try to find the will to forget you, somehow.

'Cause I know you're somewhere out there right now.

In the future we will have to resort to strange ways of obtaining water or energy. Let us hope that they are all compatible with our environment.

Frankly, I do not understand the hype about this man. Self-indulgent, bored with himself, delivering so-so performance. I seen him first time and last time. Would not recognize his music. Asked for 'shades' (it was dark), removed them in the middle of the same song. That alone told me who this guy is. I do not normally write anything bad about any musician, but this was not a good show. Glasper must have somehow get to, where he is now, but I did not see anything inspiring in this performance. Using recorded music, (of other artists), in live performance...wtf? Bringing his 4 year old girl on the stage, just deepen my feelings expressed above. And there was one song which basically told me what he is all about: ♫“Fuck yo feelings”♫. I left right after that one......

Seen in Oxford - on a day like to today the seems perfectly reasonable! It's still snowing here!!

It's a wild world, that I don't understand

And my heart fell, head first in your hands

We were too young, that's what they said

Even back then, they guessed how this would end

Now I know

You said it was over

But don't go

'Cause still when I hold you

My heart's in my mouth

Have you figured it out?

I still love you, even more now

I got no place to hide

I still get butterflies when I see you

Of that, there's no doubt, there's no doubt

let's spend this life hanging out

(I still get butterflies) kiss me again on the mouth

(I still get butterflies) don't let those butterflies out

Don't let those butterflies out

If you understand the title of this photo, you're old. :-)

I took this photo in the park which has become my weekly "get out of the condo destination" during the pandemic. It has always been a favourite place to go with my camera and now is a good place which allows for nice walks with appropriate physical distancing from other people.

This bird was fairly near the bench I was sitting at, I've never seen a bird like it in this park. I immediately thought it was a chukar (aka chukar partridge) which, although not common are found in the region. Several people stopped on their walks to chat about the bird, all saying that they too had never seen one like it here before and a couple of them expressed the opinion that it was a chukar. Then one guy said the colour seemed a bit wrong for a chukar and I'd been thinking that too so when I got home I did some googling and have decided it is probably a rock partridge which, as it turns out, is very closely related to the chukar.
