Photograph taken at an altitude of Two hundred and three metres at 13:13pm on Thursday 8th November 2018, off Biskupstungnabraut 35 at Gullfoss (Golden falls) waterfall, on the Ölfusá river in the South-west of iceland.

It is located in the canyon of the Hvítá (white river) which begins at the Hvítárvatn glacier lake on the Langjökull glacier in the highlands of Iceland.

This tiered cataract waterfall has two drops of around eleven and twenty one metres, falling into a crevice thirty two metres deep and flows at a rate of between eighty and one hundred and forty cubic metres per second depending on the season.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Three metres, at 06:47am on Sunday 1st September 2019 around sunrise off 1st Street and Bevan Avenue, between the boat jetty and Bevan Avenue Fishing Pier in beautiful Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Here we look over to Sidney Island, one of the Southern Gulf islands between the southwest coast of BC. It has an elevation of seventy seven metres above sea level at it's highest point. Ferry trips from Sidney to Sidney spit on Sidney Island operate for certain parts of the year.

Thanet offshore windfarm was officially opened on September 23rd 2010 and was for a time, the largest offshore windfarm project in the world. The eight lines of turbines, one hundred of them in total, run north-west to south-east, covering a total area of 35sq km off Foreness Point near Margate. Rocky mountain bighorn sheep (ovis canadensis canadensis) are native to North America, and noted for horns which can weigh up to 14kg. Adults can weigh 140kg, and there are three distinct sub species. They originally came from Siberia over seven hundred and fifty thousand years ago and were important to first nation native Indians who watched as the species neared extinction thanks to the introduction of European livestock and over hunting by white settlers.

**** This frame was chosen on March 6th 2019 to appear on FLICKR EXPLORE (Highest Ranking: #TBC. This is my 119th photograph to be selected, which for me is both amazing and exciting, as I never view my images as worthy compared to some of the awesome photography out there. EXPLORE is Flickr's way of showcasing the most interesting photos within a given point in time -- usually over a 24 hour period.

Flickr receives about 6,000 uploads every minute -- That's about 8.6 million photos a day! From this huge group of images, the Flickr Interestingness algorithm chooses only 500 images to showcase for each 24-hour period. That's only one image in every 17,000!..... so I am really thrilled to have a frame picked and most grateful to every one of the 29.500+ Million people who have visited, favourite and commented on this and all of my other photographs here on my FLICKR site. *****

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. Photograph taken at an altitude of Three hundred and fifteen metres at 08:39am on Friday 24th August 2018, having paid twenty five euros for a trip on the East wing lift up to the highest viewing platform on the Tour Eiffel located at Champ de Mars, 5 Avenue Anatole France, 75007 in Paris, France. Here we look over part of Paris including the fountains in Jardins du Trocadero towards Place du Trocadero and Esplanade du Trocadero in Paris, France.

The Eiffel Tower was originally designed by Gustave Eiffel and constructed between 1887-1889 as the entrance to the worlds fair in that year. It is now the worlds most visited paid monument, standing 324 metres tall (1,063ft) with three floors and eight lifts and was the tallest building in the world from 1889 to 1930.

This is my 83rd photograph to be selected, which for me is both amazing and exciting, as I never view my images as worthy compared to some of the awesome photography out there. EXPLORE is Flickr's way of showcasing the most interesting photos within a given point in time -- usually over a 24 hour period.

Flickr receives about 6,000 uploads every minute -- That's about 8.6 million photos a day! From this huge group of images, the Flickr Interestingness algorithm chooses only 500 images to showcase for each 24-hour period. This Two point five seconds long exposure was taken at an altitude of One metres, in the golden hour around sunrise at 06:15am on Sunday 1st September 2019 around sunrise off 1st Street and Bevan Avenue, bewteen the boat jetty and Bevan Avenue Fishing Pier in beautiful Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

The Bevan Avenue fishing pier is one of the main focal points in Sidney, and Work commenced on the pier in 1993 with Phase one, a 90 metre straight section being completed in 1996. A year later the 110 metre Phase two section was completed.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Thirty four metres at 14:46pm on Friday 9th November 2018, off þorsmerkurvegur at Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall on the South Coast of Iceland part of the river Seljalandsá with it's origins underneath the glacier Eyjafjallajökull (the Volcano which erupted in 2010).

The waterfall drops two hundred feet and can be viewed, as shown here, from inside and behind with a walkway and legends of elves and treasures in Icelandic culture.

Il Duomo di Firenze, is the main church of Florence, begun in 1296 and completed in 1436, it was designed by Arnolfo di Cambio and engineered by Filippo Brunelleschi. The dome was once the largest in the world. The Cathedral, known in Latin as 'Cathedral Sanctae Mariae Floris ', is 376ft high, 502ft long and has a floor space of 89,000square feet.

This three seconds long exposure was taken at an altitude of Two metres, at 06:32am on Wednesday 15th September 2019 around sunrise off 1st Street and Bevan Avenue, close to Glass beach, between the boat jetty and Bevan Avenue Fishing Pier in beautiful Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

The Bevan Avenue fishing pier is one of the main focal points in Sidney, and Work commenced on the pier in 1993 with Phase one, a 90 metre straight section being completed in 1996. A year later the 110 metre Phase two section was completed. Currently in February 2023, tenders are being invited for major renovations to the pier to include Localized replacement of coating system on pier structures, Installation of a pile wrapping system, Localized steel repairs, and Installation of supplemental sacrificial anodes.

Work will commence April 15th 2023 and terminated in September 2023.

This photograph of a female Southern Bald Eagle was taken at 12:44pm on Tuesday 24th May 2016 near Duncan in British Columbia, Canada.

The Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus Leucocephalus), derives it's name from the Greek for 'Sea eagle', and the 'bald' denotation actually derives from an older meaning of 'white headed'.Bald Eagles can be up to forty inches in length with a wingspan up to seven and a half feet and can wigh up to 6.3kgs. The females are generally 25% larger than the males.

This photograph was taken an altitude of Nine hundred and thirteen metres, at 13:29pm on Monday May 16th 2016 off the Alaska Highway 1 close to Morley Lake on the way to Teslin in British Columbia, Canada.

This is a large adult American Black Bear (Ursus Americanus). Native to North America, and found in abundance in the Yukon territory and Alaska, Black bears have a small tail, up to nine inches long foot length and males can weigh up to 250kgs.

On my trip I encountered several bears and, although it is strongly recommended that you do not leave your vehicle to photograph these beautiful wild animals, needless to say, with care and caution I did just that to capture my photographs.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Fifty eight metres at 14:07pm on a summer afternoon on Monday 7th June 2021, off Hythe Avenue and Chessington Avenue in Bexleyheath, Kent.

Here we see a juvenile Starling (Sturnus vulgaris), 'sunning' itself on a garden stone pathway, now fully fledged and fending for itself having spent a short period of time being fed by it's parents. Starlings are Passerines measuring up to 21cm in length with up to a 42cm wingspan. They are most abundant in the South East of England and are capable of mimicking many sounds around them and despite being a common sight in UK gardens, their decline elsewhere sees them on the red conservation list.

'Sunning' herself on a garden fence.'Sunning', is a behaviour adopted by several bird species which involves sitting down, fanning it's wings or tail feathers, fluffing out it's feathers, tilting it's head, or even staring at the sun with one eye in an effort to release vital preening oils into the feathers, to help rid themselves of unwanted parasites, and possibly even simply because they enjoy it! Other species that I've observed doing this include the Blackbird (Turdus merula) and juvenile Starlings (Sturnus vulgaris).

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. (ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably).

With visits now in excess of 17.247 Million to my FLICKR site, used primarily these days as a fun platform to reach friends and family as I have now sold my professional gear and now take a more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to FLICKR, GETTY IMAGES and everyone who drops by.

The Eiffel Tower was originally designed by Gustave Eiffel and constructed between 1887-1889 as the entrance to the worlds fair in that year. This photograph of a Golden Eagle (Aquila Chrysaetos), was taken at 10:37am on Tuesday 24th May 2016 near Duncan in British Columbia, Canada.

The Golden Eagle is the most widely distributed species of Eagle, and large specimens have been recorded with a wingspan in excess of Eight feet and males weighing fourteen pounds. They have been know to maintain home territories of up to 200 kilometres and can dive at speeds of two hundred Miles per hour.

Eagles, including Bald and Golden Eagles have a huge significance to many First Nations bands in Canada and the United States Of America. Eagles are seen as the mediators for Native people, they help the answering of prayers and are viewed as guardian angels. Historically, Eagle feathers were earned for various acts of bravery and worn in clothing and headdress.

The Golden Eagle is a figure from Shishalh (Sechelt First Nation) folklore in British Columbia, revered as a supernatural creature, and many see it as sacred as it flies closest to the creator, and traditionally all parts of the bird were used including the bones, with each bird respected and honoured after it's death.

Here we see a male American kestrel (Falco sparverius)is a fiersome predator, a raptor (bird of prey), and the smallest and most common Falcon in North America. Here we see an adult female Attacus atlas, the atlas moth or 'Cobra moth' to which it is sometimes referred thanks to it's cobra headed wingtips used as a defence against possible pradators. It's Cantonese name translates as 'Snake's head moth'. A saturniids, or Saturniidae moth in the family Lepidoptera, it is the third largest species of moth in the world, with a wingspan up to 24cms or nine and a half inches.

Females are much larger than the males, and have thinner antenna, as well as different silver/white markings on the upper wings.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Thirty six metres at 14:31pm on Friday 9th November 2018, off þorsmerkurvegur at Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall on the South Coast of Iceland part of the river Seljalandsá with it's origins underneath the glacier Eyjafjallajökull (the Volcano which erupted in 2010).

The waterfall drops two hundred feet and can be viewed from inside and behind with a walkway and legends of elves and treasures in Icelandic culture.

This Fifteen seconds long exposure was taken taken at an altitude of Two metres, at 05:59am on Wednesday 1st September 2019 around sunrise off 1st Street and Bevan Avenue, between the boat jetty and Bevan Avenue Fishing Pier in beautiful Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

The Bevan Avenue fishing pier is one of the main focal points in Sidney, and Work commenced on the pier in 1993 with Phase one, a 90 metre straight section being completed in 1996. A year later the 110 metre Phase two section was completed.
