On Friday, October 19, 2018, blue skies and perfect fall weather welcomed #UASCS sophomores to the Adirondacks. Scholars eagerly faced the challenge of climbing Bald Mountain, where they encountered fantastic fall foliage, crisp fresh air, and panoramic views. Many scholars faced their fear of heights and climbed the fire tower at the very top of the 2,313-foot summit. The climb was challenging at times, slippery with wet leaves and mud that tried to suck your shoes off if you weren’t careful, but none of our scholars gave up or turned back. The view was definitely worth it.
Sailing on the River Elbe can get a little busy sometimes. These two huge container ships Ever Smile and UASC Yabu passed one another just down river from Hamburg Yachthafen. The wakes from both ships made us feel somewhat small in our 25ft Folkboat!!
On Saturday, May 26, 2018, Ms. Savage, Mr. Fowler and Mrs. Grabovica took #UASCS high school seniors to New York City for a three day trip. Students had great experiences and enjoyed the best of New York City; Time Square, Statue of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial, Coney Island, and more. These trips reward our students for their hard work and help them learn how to navigate their way in new destinations. Go Atoms! #UASCS #UASAtoms
