The two latest gals I got were ones I REALLY wanted, so they weren’t in perfect condition, but I enjoyed sprucing them up! On the left is whom I think is my new favourite out of all of my Sindys, a Titian ‘Styling Sindy’ from 1980/81. She has the ‘2 GEN/ 1077 and 033055X’ markings on the back of her head, and her hair has thinned out a bit, (mine has too after some 40-odd years! LOL) but it’s still very soft, shiny and glossy, and it’s to her waist, but looks a bit shorter in this side-ponytail hairstyle. But what I REALLY loved about her is that her head hasn’t faded at all, which is quite a common occurrence for these ‘Styling’ lasses. Her lips HAD faded though, to a sickly creamy banana colour, so I just gave her lips a light coral pink wash and a whisper of blush on her cheeks and it made all the difference. I wanted to put her in something very clean, classic and simple so as not to detract from her gorgeous hair or delicate beauty, so her outfit is a combination of ‘Mix & Match’ items from the 1978 and 1979 ranges, in a very classic colour scheme of navy, white (LOVE those flared linen-like pants!) and a dash of bright yellow in that sporty fleece jacket.
My other gal on the right is the 1976 Funtime Sindy with ash-blonde hair that surprisingly kinda looks streaked, which is a very cool 70’s touch. It’s quite an interesting haircut, as it’s more of a wavy ‘shag’ style that’s more layered than I thought it would be, with a bit of a ‘pouf’ in the back (which in itself is very 70’s, too) and as you can see, it has also retained its natural curl. I just had to lightly brush it into shape and that was it. Another tell-tale sign that it’s genuine (and not just cut from a longer haired gal, as I have seen on some of the ones offered on eBay,) is that the hair rooting lays a bit flatter and closer to the head, and doesn’t ‘stick out’ as much as on the longer haired gals, especially around the back and sides, where it softly waves really close to her head. Her hair was the only thing that was perfect on her, as she was very TLC when I got her, but I think she scrubbed up nicely, especially in her 1978 ‘Mix & Match’ skirt, blouse and bag, which I think is a very suitable mid 70’s look for her.
A tale of two systems. As you can see here, both of these SLRs are pretty nice examples of their respective brands. The Pentax Spotmatic SP with the 35mm f/3,5 Super Takumar weighs 1 lb. 14 oz., and the Nikon FE with the fantastic 35mm f/2 Nikkor weighs 2 pounds, 2 ounces. Not a lot of difference, and both are joys to use. One is fully manual, the other aperture-priority. The Spotmatic and its lens are definitely more compact than the Nikon FE. I can't go wrong with either one.

On the left is a Voigtländer Brillant TLR with uncoated Heliar taking lens from 1939. It was called the „Focussing Brillant“ because of the coupled viewing lens. On the side there is a cover. Behind it is a push on yellow filter and a push on lightmeter for the viewing lens.
On the right is a Zeiss Ikon Ikoflex Ic 886/16 with coated Tessar taking lens. This Model was produced fron 1956 to 1960 and has a build in uncoupled light meter displayed on the top of the matte screen.

A great looking two-tone VW Beetle at the gathering at Elsham Hall not that far from Scunthorpe this weekend. There's a lot of hanging around at these events - waiting for people to move out the way while you're taking photos. I know that sounds cheeky, but I'm only at these events for photos.....afterall, it's what I do.

Wandle (4.2%) is named after the Thame tributary flowing through South West London and is the brewery's flagship beer first brewed in 2008.
Brewed using only English malt & hops, this golden amber ale is extremely quaffable and an ideal accompaniment to light dishes such as fish or chicken.

Two trees stand atop a promontory above a foggy Pacific Ocean view, Point Lobos.
This photograph, the final in a set I’ve shared recently, comes from a half-day visit to Point Lobos one foggy late-July morning. For is always fun, but in this case it was extra special. California suffered through some extremely hot weather back in July, and I headed to the coast to try to find some relief. I found it! While the temperatures back home were heading well into the upper nineties, here along the coast it was in the upper fifties under the overcast. I spent the morning and early afternoon wandering through the park.
These trees are Monterey cypresses, native to this locale along the rugged coast. Here they grow along the tops of cliffs that drop steeply into the ocean. This promontory is along the north shore of Point Lobos where some of the higher cliffs are found. While the fog here was high enough to reveal the trees, a short distance offshore it was right on the water.
