I spent the morning at Patapsco Valley State Park armed with my new ND Filters. I've been to this spot many times, but this morning was kind of special. This waterfall is a popular spot and there are typically a handful of people in the area. Some just jog or walk by while others come just for the waterfall and to hang out and just appreciate the beauty of this spot. Today, I got there early and for the first hour it was just me and waterfall. As a matter of fact, based on what I could see as I drove into the park, I was the only one in the park at that time.
About an hour into it a jogger ran by, but that was it. It wasn't until about two hours later that people started showing up. It was kind of nice to have the park to myself for so long.
The story behind this is heartbreaking. In his younger days, Ng Eng Teng was in love with someone, but he couldn't be with them due to "family reasons". He enshrined his love for this person in the form of two heart-shaped ponds in his garden, separated by brick and cement, but joined by an unseen pipe so the water flows from one pond to another. A sculpture of a single tear on a heart shaped stone next to the pond attests to this unspoken love, and how it always weighed on his heart.
Today is my two year flickr anniversary. I started out using the site only to post photos to my blog for sharing with friends and family. I also didn't use the site very often. I remember not even noticing the whole contacts and commenting feature in the beginning.
I bought a pro account in January of 2005 when I finally reached one hundred photos, the unpaid account limit at that time. I started shooting more frequently then because sharing photos on Flickr kept me more motivated.
My involvement in Flickr has been a fruitful experience. I never would've guessed how this site would influence my life in such a positive way, lead to meeting countless wonderful people, and help me become a much better photographer.

Two tone was really popular on cars in the 50's; it doesn't work quite as well on on grain cars.

The sun was setting and the rain had briefly let up for just long enough to steal a couple of shots of the Two Rivers Gallery in Prince George, BC. Within minutes it was pouring again.
Tandem bike rentals are popular in Visby, Gotland. It's a good way to see the city and some of the surrounding area.
They look innocuous enough, but underneath lurks a dark center composed strictly of peanut butter and disobedience.
